Hi there.
Seems that superusers seem to have problems editing items on the front end, such as 'about' 'website' and editing profile pictures seem also hard to do?
Thanks.
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

May i know what do you mean hard to do the edit profile info?

Is it you mean you unable to access edit profile page?

Because I did try to edit profile information from my account, seems work fine for me.

Hey gjay,

Editing profile has a lot of complications involved and it is ideal that editing needs to be done at the back end. Custom fields app for instance has different actions performed when editing on the front end vs editing on the back end

Editing on the backend is all well and good, but if you have people wishing to help and they don't know how to use Joomla, this could cause all sorts of problems, and it isn't a very intuitive way of doing something like making simple edits. I think the lack of admin functions in easysocial is the one thing that lets it down. In my opinion, as a social network software, easier admin functions should be at easysocial's foundation, especially given the climate of increased awareness of cyberbullying and the like. I admin functions should be a higher priority for stackideas =)

An example could be a simplified 'Admin panel' on the front end where admins can quickly view reports and such like without needing backend access =)

In a user's perspective it might make sense but what you are suggesting might lead to many more problems in the future such as:

1. Duplicate codes to make it behave like the back end (since their codes can't be shared)

2. Create additional bottlenecks on the edit profile page to allow other users to edit another user

3. Introduce more possible ways of generating bugs because of the code redundancy

Perhaps we might figure an alternative to this when we have our own "administration" area on the front end but that would be a whole new topic altogether.

Maybe in the future then, perhaps if your development software is upgraded and can track the code in a better way? =)
At least I have brought this to your attention and into your mind =)

The key concern here is Joomla and not really our software The platform itself requires 2 different codes to be written (for the back end) and (for the front end)

Ahh I thought you may be using other software that would perhaps help track everything lol, I didn't mean your actual software which is REALLY good btw

I believe no other software can intelligent enough to track everything like which part of code handling frontend or backend, unless mark all the single function code into a list but time consuming and difficult to maintenance.

By the way, thanks for your suggestion.
