I'm confused and get email from our members asking about subscriptions and how it work, can I get clarification about the following

when you have site subscriptions on, members are not getting email notifications when new comments or replies has been added unless they subscribe to a specific post then they get everything.
can you explain please as I was thinking when you have site subscription is ON you get everything... new posts, comments, replies..etc

This is correct.

For example :
User A - Site subscription is ON
User B - Site subscription is OFF
When the member submit a new discussion (called Discussion Z) on your site, the system will notify to this User A new discussion published on your site.

Then User B - Subscribe this Discussion Z

When someone reply on this Discussion Z
- User B will get notification

If you subscribe to a category, do you get notifications of replies and comments in that category?

Regarding the category subscription, the user will only get the new discussion which published in your category subscription.
