Hi,
I'm confused...I thought that a subscriber who made a comment on an article would automatically be notified if a replay or another comment was made on that article. I have a couple of users that are getting notification on any comment that is made on any article. I have a picture of my notifications settings. I would like a subscriber to be notified only when he/she has made a comment on an article and someone has replied.
hello C Lippert,

Sorry for late reply to this,
May i know did you enable this option in your site? Check my screenshot below.
By the way, I have checked in your screenshot, it seems like all set correctly and when the user subscribed on this article example, if another user reply on this article, subscriber will get notified.

Also , may i know do you have setup cronjob in your site yet?

If everything already configured, the subscriber still can't get the email notification, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this?

Hello,
Yes, I did just set up the cron job today. The site is not real active so not sure when I'll get another comment. FYI - I think it's working ok now. Just want a user to get an email for only the article he is commenting on.- not any other articles. Do you think I have it set up ok?

Also, looked at your picture and no I do not have the subscription through email enabled. I do not understand how a subscription through email would work.

Hello C Lippert,

As long as your user get the email notification, then it should configure correctly.

Yes, that was the issues if you didn't enable this subscription option, unless you enable "auto subscribe" when the user comment on your article, it will auto subscribe on this article, which mean that when another user comment on this article again, all the subscriber will get notified.

But if you wouldn't like enable this "auto subscribe" option, you can "Enable Subscription" option so that user can choose subscribe this article or do not want to subscribe.

ok Thank you I will enable the subscription through email.

I also have an administrator manager that would like to be notified whenever any comment is made on all articles. So I added Manager on to this screen. See attached. Is this all I have to do?
