Hi there,

my blogging via e-mail does not work:

- Mail arriving in mailbox: ok
- Test-connection in easyBlog: success
- Publishing options in easyBlog hopefuly correct:
* publishing-state: published
* enable auto-posting:yes
* category: same as in menu-publishing
(referr to attached pic)
- Cronjob: working (status: 200 "There are no pending emails that needs to be dispatched currently.")

Any idea what could be wrong?
Pls feel free to check site and mail (credentials stated below)

Best,
Matthias
Hey Matthias,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I am having issues accessing the back end and also the ftp.

1. Can you please set the user "easyBlog" with super administrator privileges?

2. Can you edit your post above to also include the FTP access please?

Hi Mark,

thx for your feedback.

I updated the info in the ticket:
- added FTP-access
- promoted Joomla user to superAdmin

regards,
Matthias

PS: the cron-job is at an external service since my provider only offers daily execution.

Hi Arlex,

as I've written in my inital post, the mails can be found in the stated folder; the easyBlog mailbox-check-function reports a "success".
Meanwhile I checked it with another folder (same result) and with google-account (did not work since authentication didn't work) and with an outlook.de account which brings the same error.
I'll gonna post the result in the "additional information" section.

Best
Matthias

Sorry, Arlex - this was my mistake: forgot to mention the obligatoric prefix of the ftp-user!
Just corrected the name of the ftp-user - should work now!

Cheers,
Matthias

Hi there,

I gradually have to come to a solution. Blogging by mail was the primarily feature to chose easyblog; so it's not usable for us without that feature.
The site has to go online and my time for this project is running out.
So it would be important to have this done very contemporary.

Thanks for your valued support,
Matthias

Hi Arlex,
it has to go online till Friday night.
Unfortunately I hold a workshop thursday and friday and have'nt time to care about that blog. If easyblog does not work the way intendet, I have to look for something else (which takes time), if it does, I have to configure it the way it's requested (takes time too), so I'm really short of time...

Hey Matthias,

After troubleshoot long time ago, it seems like your inbox message created in this email address m@tthias-henke.de , since you have enabled this `Map email` option from the remote email setting (screenshot : http://take.ms/5zgz8 ), the system will trying to map back your email author to your site registered user.

But I getting following error log :

int(1)
string(70) "Unable to detect the user based on the email <b>m@tthias-henke.de</b>."
int(2)
string(70) "Unable to detect the user based on the email <b>m@tthias-henke.de</b>."
int(3)
string(70) "Unable to detect the user based on the email <b>m@tthias-henke.de</b>."
int(4)
string(70) "Unable to detect the user based on the email <b>m@tthias-henke.de</b>."

Then I checked in your current site user do not have this email address registered in your site. So now I have turn it off that `Map email to the user` setting then it should work fine now. You can take a look of your backend > Easyblog > post listing page , all of your email already imported in Easyblog.

By the way, it seems like you using POP3 mail service, after these emails imported in Easyblog, it will automatically deleted it from your mailbox because POP3 do not have the protocol API for SEEN these mail like IMAP.

Can you give it a check?
