Hi,

i am using ES and Kunena and my users are asking when using the ES messaging system to giv the messages a subject. Is this possible or do I have to use different systems or maybe the Kunena messaging system which means to have two different profiles....

Am I wrong? Do you have a "hint" for me?
Hello Horst,

Currently it's not possible to set subjects for the conversation currently.

Hi Mark,

I do not know if this would be a major change but it would be great to have it.....

Thanks

Hello Horst,

The idea behind the creation of the conversations is to allow users to easily start a conversation with one another without all the unnecessary fields like the title Why would you need a title if you want to continuously talk to someone?

Hi Mark,

I can absolutely understand your idea behind the conversation part. But if you have a look at my screenshot - there are a lot of conversations between me and the user "Badener" - all about different topics. At first it seems to be one conversation - I do not know how others think about this.....maybe I am wrong

Hm this is odd, because they should be grouped up together rather than be a standalone conversation. Let me run some tests locally and see if I can fix this in 1.2.

An alternative is uddeIM which is decent and loaded with a lot of options. I'm with Mark that I'd rather not have to fill out a title field. If there ever was a title field added to ES, I'd want it to be optional and not forced upon users to use the title field. I've used the title field for years which is handy in some ways, especially with emails. But with messaging other users it's pretty nice to go straight to a message and have your conversations grouped in one place.

Hi Josh,

Is there a good was to integrate uddeIM into ES in combination with Kunena?

Thanks for your feedback!

Kunena specifically has a plugin that installs by default called "Kunena - UddeIM Integration" which means that all you have to do is activate the plugin for it to integrate with UddeIM. The problem however is the support from the ES profile to UddeIM. Community Builder supports it very well, ES is new so I wouldn't expect it to support UddeIM. For now messages could be sent from the forum (as the user posts it gives a link to pm) or by manually putting in the users name when sending a message.

Hi Mark,

did you find the issue for solving this in 1.2?

Hello Horst,

I cannot reproduce this internally. Maybe you can provide us with the user account that has this issue and FTP access to your site and I will troubleshoot this?
