I would like to know if there is a way to have a menu link to a page where it displays a stream that is read only. Example, the admin would like to post information to all members every hour of the day. Think of it as streaming tips. Members may comment on the stream but may not enter anything on the stream. Is this possible?
Hello Carl,

Unfortunately that is not possible currently as the only way to get a read only stream is to disable on the user's profile types and leave the admin's profile type with the access to post status updates

Sorry to butt in, my thought is related to the question and I would like to have this feature as well.

Mark, what about a module that would pull an activity stream from any ES contents like Groups, Pages, User, etc. just like you see in FB modules that it only pulls activity stream. As for Carl's requirement, it would be nice if the module will show the story box when a user is logged in and a member of a group where the stream is pulled from (that is if in the module setting Group is selected as source).

I would love to have this module. I wonder if the Stream Anywhere Module function this way.

Thanks,

Jackson

This should be able to accomplished your need as you can position this module on designated place/accessed by whom and etc. But those update you inserted, will be shown that user profile page(stream poster).

Please advice.

Hi Abdul,

No, it does not! I just purchased the module and what it really does is like commenting system that is tied to a user's profile and is using the Story Form. So any posts you make in the form will go to the user's dashboard.

I guess you guys have to change that module description or details explaining more what it does. I tried to ask from the App Store but boy you guys seems like too busy with development. I don't get a clear explanation of what it does, when I think I asked a specific question.

Also, FYI to those who may want to buy this, the module will not allow you to pull activity stream of a specific Group, Page, or Event. It will ONLY pull activity streams of a Category.

I wanted a module that pulls activity stream of a specific Group, Page or Event or User but this module is limited to Category only.

Hi there,

Yes it is currently it is not possible to achieved that on cluster group(page, event, group) and stream everywhere is used for user to post their stream on any page. I am sorry for not clarifying this on above reply.

Maybe you can use this module instead 'Easysocial - Stream' module instead and see how it goes
