When clicking on a discussion within a group, the page reloads instead of staying on the group page. notice the background and everything associated with that menu item disappear.

site details included.
Hi benjamin beaugh,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,

After you confirmed that behaviour you would like to achieve, then I tested in our locally regarding this menu structure.

Unfortunately that was not possible achieve on this way in current system is because when you click on the "create discussion" page, it actually redirect to view=apps layout instead of view=groups, you can take a look of my following example non-sef link.

http://mylocal.com/index.php?option=com_easysocial&view=groups&layout=item&id=2:dot-arena&Itemid=453 (group page)

http://mylocal.com/index.php?option=com_easysocial&view=apps&layout=canvas&customView=create&uid=2:dot-arena&type=group&id=27:discussions&Itemid=191 (create a discussion on group page)

But I will add this on our codebase and see if we can implement this Menu type for group create discussion view in the future.

Update...
heres the scenario.

Heres a link to a group.
http://www.lf1m.org/index.php/community/starcitizen/starflight-venture-cooperative

Clicking on things like Discussions -> Create Discussion takes you to a page like this...
http://www.lf1m.org/index.php/apps/canvas/27-discussions/group/2-svc?customView=create
effectively taking you to a different menu item... modules assigned to the http://www.lf1m.org/index.php/community/starcitizen/starflight-venture-cooperative menu item all disappear.

if i add in the original link to the latter link, all work perfectly.
http://www.lf1m.org/index.php/community/starcitizen/starflight-venture-cooperative/apps/canvas/27-discussions/group/2-svc?customView=create

How do i get it to do this automatically?

Thank you!

Hi benjamin beaugh,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,

I have checked in your menu item structure, it seems like you didn't create the Easysocial - dashboard main menu item, so the Joomla always find your single group menu item id first, so the URL will not get correctly.

By the way, I already help you created "Easysocial - Dashboard" menu item in your "hidden menu", so it will display correctly now, can you give it a try now?

Hi benjamin beaugh,

Sorry for late reply to this,

Thanks for take your time explain again,

The reason why when you access the "create discussion page", it didn't show the module is because the menu item id already changed.

Take a look of your following 2 link:
http://www.lf1m.org/index.php/community/starcitizen/starflight-venture-cooperative
http://www.lf1m.org/index.php/social/apps/canvas/27-discussions/group/2-svc?customView=create

May i know which menu item you use for display "community" ?

Hi BenJamin Beaugh,

Sorry for confusing, check my screenshot below.

What I mean is when you access this page -> http://www.lf1m.org/index.php/community/starcitizen/starflight-venture-cooperative

It actually calling from this menu item Game Groups (Alias: community) -Text Separator is because all the single Easysocial group menu item is parent with this menu item.

So when you click on "Create discussion" button, it will call this hidden menu - dashboard (Easysocial) , check my screenshot : http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-17_1613.png

then the module will not appear on this page is because you only assign to show on this page -> http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-17_1615.png

Is there a way do not use this menu item? Game Groups (Alias: community) -Text Separator

If I'm not wrong, you would like to set different single group menu item and display different module right?
-> http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-17_1617.png

If yes, can you provide us with that 2 module name so that I can test around and see is it possible to make it?

that is correct.

so for this page: http://www.lf1m.org/index.php/community/starcitizen/starflight-venture-cooperative
there are a couple modules...
STARCITIZEN SCROLLER ID:268
STARCITIZEN GUIDES AND INFO ID:272

Thank you for all of your help!
