Hello!


After struggling with a Joomla white death screen on Monday and while cleaning-up, I discovered a feature in Joomla articles that inserts a reply submission form and a discussion button ilinked with EasyDiscuss. See at the bottom of the article. I am using Komento so such form should not be included.

Secondly, when clicking on view discussion button, it links with a forum set-up on EasyDisccuss:

I also noticed that several Joomla articles created were posted in EasyDiscuss as posts. It started back in August 2016…There were no activities in EasyDiscuss in August and September.

Something that I did not set-up. Was I hacked? I don’t know. I was able to relaunch the site after disabling several content statistics plugins. Is it a new a new feature added in EasyDiscuss or Komento in latest updates?

Got an answer. Based on Alex, I should disable content_easydiscuss plugin. I just did it and the form as well as the link to EasyDiscuss has been removed.
I see the potential of the feature. However, I am not sure how to enforce a better control on it.
I noticed that for the last few weeks, the site experienced a surge in guests/users higher than usual. They tend to be looking for sites where they can fill up a forum or comments with spam... One Joomla article posted early September shows over 2000 hits and the same post on EasyDiscuss shows over 1772 views. I am ready to be famous, but I feel that such number of view is rather fishy. Any suggestions how to handle the form for registered users only? Where can I find additional info on content_easydiscuss plugin?

Lastly, and not related, I need further assistance.
- The pages of EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss seems to block the access of the main menu of the site.
- During a debug session, I got the following warning:
JFolder: :delete: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/xxx/public_html/administrator/components/com_easyblog/sql
JFolder: :delete: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/xxx/public_html/administrator/components/com_easyblog/xmlfiles

Hey AB,

Basically how this content - Easydiscuss plugin work is auto create a discussion in Easydiscuss when the user create a new Joomla article on the site.

Actually it really depend on you is it needed this content plugin enable, because base on what you said you already use Komento to be your Joomla article comment system, i think you no need to include Easydiscuss reply form in Joomla article page.


Any suggestions how to handle the form for registered users only?

May i know which page you see these error? Base on these warning message system unable to delete those file because that folder is not there.

EasyDiscuss: Specially when new fields such as "Edit Sitewide Replies" on the Moderation tab was set to Yes. It would be preferable if new fields in new update are systematically set to block the users...

Thank you for the advanced info on content_easydiscuss plugin. It is an interesting plugin and very powerful as well. For sites using Komento, it would be good to allow authorized users to use part of the features, such as creating a discussion in a easydiscuss category of their choice depending on the subject of the article submitted.

The easyblog warnings mentionned in previous post, if I recall correctly, appeared during an update of the component.

Yes, for those ACL rules like `Moderation tab` we will set to NO by default, unless that is SuperUser user group, because Superuser should have all the permission.

I think is the plugin - Content - EasyDiscuss and I turned it off. there is no more auto-posting of Joomla Articles to Easydiscuss
