Obviously this component is never going to compete with Facebook and I'm sure it was never meant to but at the same end all info on easysocial will be kept on your own websites servers (won't it) so what is the user limit if there is one with easysocial if you only had say 10 Gigabytes storage on a server?
For example if a photo is approx 1mb in size and you have 100 members with 20 photos each that is already about 2 gigabyte of storage?
will Easysocial be able to keep tabs via the backend on storage use or is this something that will have to be monitored via CPanel etc?
hi mark, i played today a bit with Remote Storage and read a lot of good and bad tutorials about using S3 and CDN together. i found also a good tutorial from jreviews http://docs.reviewsforjoomla.com/?title=How_to_set_up_JReviews_with_Amazon_S3_and_CloudFront_CDN and this shows me a problem with our current remote storage. ES 1.0.5 do not allow to use S3 and CDN together like it works on jreviews and this cost us more money because cdn for Buckets is cheaper then s3 alone. so please add a support for CDN to our current Remote Store Settings!

A few words about S3 metadata

JReviews assigns cache-control of one year and expires metadata of one year to the files that are uploaded to S3. This provides an important boost in page speed by reducing http requests to your buckets. This feature was introduced in March 2013 with JReviews 2.4.6.1. If your S3 bucket has older files you should use a tool like Bucket Explorer to add metadata in bulk to your buckets.

this function above is also important and should be added to ES Remote Storage Options.

Hello Rene,

You can actually use a plugin like CDN for Joomla from http://nonumber.nl . If your cdn provider (Most cdn provider does) supports this, it should work out of the box

hi mark, i already tried the no number cdn plugin/pro and spend the whole weekend for this..but at the end i'm aware it does not work together with s3 remotage storage. it works perfect standalone for joomla but it does not work together with s3 remote storage.

i have tried the following diferent variants:

1. I added my s3 bucket as a new origin in my existing cdn distro

2. I created a new distro for the my existing bucket and added the new distro/Cname to CDN Plugin/Pro

for both of them i added additional the Cname Nameserver in my CPanel/Hosting but it did not worked

Hm, I have never tried Amazon S3 + CDN. Most of the time, I only used CDN since our primary purpose is to serve the content faster to the user and not worry about disk space Try contacting Peter, I am sure he'll help

then it's time to try it because there will come more requests from other User about s3 and CDN together like it works on jreviews!

if i ask Peter then it would be the same as if i ask my baker what sort of sausages are good for his bread! that means Peter response mostly the same answers..

If the cloudfront urls give unexpected results, ask cloudfront about it...or..ask cloudfront on support for setting up the cloudfront urls and setup.

Peter always provides excellent support. Because of that I purchased a lifetime license to all his software. :-) I did the same with JoomlaBamboo.com for their templates and would certainly be tempted to do the same with StackIdeas if they had such an option. :-)

Yep, I agree with Sean here. Perhaps you need to buy a valid subscription to get support
