Hi

I dont like it when a discussion is locked for no reason. Topics should only be locked when there is an issue with people posting too much, going well off topic. It should not be used for Job management. That is what the accepted aswer is for.

Also consider if there is something relevant that needs to be addded, i cannot do that.

I can give an example if need.

Obviously these are my opinions and you guys can run the board as you want but it does not stop this being annoying

Thanks
This is our current workflow and they have all been instructed to lock the posts as soon as they are resolved. If you have a similar problem related to the thread, then you can start a new topic and provide a link to that thread for reference.

Primarily locking the thread is to speed up our support response. Why? If a post has 500 replies since 5 years ago, and someone just posted a reply "I have a similar problem" without stating the reason why and how is it related, it's going to require us to read through 500 posts just to understand the problem.

Honestly, we don't have any ill-intentions for locking a thread. It's all done so that you get the quickest response

Thanks for your feedback.

Most of the time if the thread already mark as resolved, normally we will lock the thread on our forum.

If the user requested do not lock the thread for no reason, we will not lock the thread.

If you lock the thread then I cannot ask you not to lock it. @Arlex you have a higher rate of locking threads than your colleagues. . A discussion certainly should never be locked untill an answer has been accepted. Also in normal forums I have never come across a site where they say you need to say "dont lock this thread".

Also it is not possible to click on the "please rate our support" buttons once you have locked a thread. This goes against your instructions that once an answer is accepted you should rate our support.

I still dont know why an answered thread needs to be locked. All this does is created another threads/disccussion where you have to go over the same information again if i need to reopen the discussion.

Thread locking should not be used for managing threads/discussions but only in exception circumstances etc...

I hope this feedback helps. It is not ment to be a negative thing.

thanks
