This may need to go to Voices.... but just seeing if it's currently possible under some setting I'm not aware of....

On the activity streams... could Super Admin and then the owner of event streams, group streams, profile streams etc... have the ability to 'feature' or 'make sticky' something on their timeline... so an event owner could add something to her timeline and knowing it's ultra super important to be seen 'make it sticky' and always appear at the top of the stream AS WELL as in its usual chronological position too?

I think this would be super awesome and powerful for highlighting the important stuff in a stream.

Hello Andy,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Unfortunately right now there's no way to "sticky" a stream item but to be honest, I don't really see a point in "sticky-ing" an activity item though?

Mi Mark,

The point would be that stream contain all sorts of info... some valuable... some trivial... might be cool if the owner of a 'stream' (eg the event creator) could choose to feature / make 'sticky' some of the more exciting or important stream entries. My event owners are using their stream to post important info about the events... sometimes these get pushed down by multiple "Frank is attending" type entries (which are still required, but hopefully you see my point)....

...I can add this to Voices and see if the community is interested in it. I still am... although I must explore 'Announcements' a bit more and see if that does similar... ie allow page owner to post a 'sticky' item at the top of everything.

Thanks for listening.

Hello Andy,

Announcements doesn't actually sticky the stream items but it would only display under the Announcements section

OK got it... In that case it seems that there's no way to highlight key information in this way then.... so I've gone ahead and added 'Sticky Stream Items' to Voices.... http://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial/item/710

If you're reading this and understand how this would be a good new feature, please go vote!

Hi Andy,

Thanks for updating us back on this. We'll see if we can implement this in the future.

Have a nice day.

Good idea Andy. Stack team, in commenting on Andy's post I've run into these problems (low priority issues, just want to report 'em):

1) Can't edit a voices comment
2) Can't delete a voices comment
3) Markdown syntax per here on links appears not to be supported on voices

@Eileen, yeah I've noticed that too. Reminds me of my post: http://stackideas.com/forums/7-ideas-to-encourage-us-to-use-voices
