I'm wondering if there is a way EasySocial user could submit article by posting in status. Where he/she would be able to also select category and add tags.

Currently, this is not possible. However, you can voice out this feature in our Voices page here: http://www.stackideas.com/voices/easysocial

Also, it would be great to use the EasySocial comments all around the site... so even in blog posts.

For now, we do have integration Easyblog to use Easysocial comment. Which you can turn it on here: http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-01-13_1842.png

good to know about the comments in EasyBlog ---- does this mean, that users can use #tags and @users in those comments in the same was as they would do in EasySocial status comment?

Also, are there any news about the EasyBlog 5? Because I wouldn't like to spent weeks on building something and than find it wouldn't work with the new EB5. Maybe better to wait for EB5?

As for the EB5, I can't really tell the progress currently but I'm pretty sure that the alpha version will be released soon.
