Hi Support

Uploading videos in the new EB5 template.
Where are the videos actually stored.
I have 3 videos and together the run at 500mb.
I think under the circumstance it would make more sense for me to upload via FTP.
And then in EB5 navigate to the appropriate folder and insert them.

thanks

Paul

ps so far what I am seeing EB 5 is amazing!!!
In EasyBlog 5, each post will have it's own folder and by default it should be in /images/easyblog_articles/[ARTICLE_ID]/ . This is classified as "This Post" in the media manager

Does this mean if I write a post as I have already done that the folder should be there automatically?

I attempted to upload from the Joomla back end/blog article 420.

Something went wrong timed out or something.

Please look at screen shots to see what I am seeing!?!

i.e. I am not seeing the folder where you are describing or am I missing something?

You should never upload it via ftp and it should be done via the media manager just like EasyBlog 3.9. If you open up the easyblog_images folder, you'll see a list of other folders in this folder. Each folder represents the post id.

Could something limit the upload size and cause my upload to time out?
I was trying to upload this here:

You can set it a higher value but it also depends on the php.ini's upload_max_filesize

Ok so I have cranked this up to 128 for the moment which should be enough for a 118mb file
I will look into cranking this up in cPanel later as I need to get files that are up to 250mb uploaded

best

Hi Mark

Can you help me with this question.
Is the setting that is in the screen shot above limiting my upload capacity?
Or is this something that happens at the server end of things?

I wrote to Siteground about going above 128mb in the cPanel PHP Variables settings and this is what they said:

***************************************************************

Hello Paul,

Thank you for contacting our Help Desk center!

The upload_max_filesize and post_max_filesize on the server is already set to the maximum value of 128MB for your application as you can see from the link below:

http://finalbug.net/i.php

Even settings them to a higher values via cPanel >> PHP variables manager will not change their values above them. Unfortunately if you must need to have such limit we can only increase it on our Cloud and Dedicated hosting plans.

If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Best Regards,
Pavel

*******************************************************************

If I understand this correctly:

That setting in the screen shot above limits things at the EB end.
At the Siteground end of things there is a limit which will over write the EB setting.

i.e. no matter what number I put into that little box in EB anything over 128 will not have an effect?

thanks

Paul

If the php's upload_max_filesize is already set to 128mb in php, you can set the same in EasyBlog's settings But do take note that, in your php's settings, you have max_execution_time set to 120 seconds. This also means that your upload must complete in 120 seconds, otherwise the script would break.
