It appears that easyblog is not including the image files inside the HTTPS wrapper. Thus, it shows "mixed data" / inesecure data.

I fixed the youtube, by adding the "https" to the youtube.php. Any thoughts on the images?
I have a similar problem to this, but it is about linking to the full article. I'm using Jomsocial in an https wrapped environment but when one goes to click on the 'continue reading" link it throws an error. Any way to fix this?

error: [blocked] The page at 'https://focus.bksv.com/focus' was loaded over HTTPS, but ran insecure content from 'http://community.bksv.com/community-home/easyblog/categories/listings/products-blog.html': this content should also be loaded over HTTPS.

Hello Andrea,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I can't access your site to check anything at all. Please send me the backend and FTP access for your site. Please advice.

Thanks!

Hello Andrea,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have checked this out and it seems that in your case it is actually the browser actively blocking insecure content and it's not a Jomsocial or EasyBlog issue.. You can ask the browser to not block the contents but unfortunately this must be done in every browser that loads this. Please take a look at the URL below for more information. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

But why does the browser think the content is insecure? it's the links generated by easyblog that it won't load...

Hello Andrea,

It is a norm if you try to open a http (unsecure) page in a https (secure) page. You will either need to secure the whole site or not secure the whole site. if you do it halfway like before then there wwill be issue arising from the browser.

Thanks!

Hi Adelene, could you please take another look. When I hover over a link generated by easyblog it shows up like this: "community.bksv.com/etc/whatever". When I hover over any other link it shows up like this "https://community.bksv.com/etc/whatever" ...

there MUST be something that causes easyblog links (read more, etc) to show up without the http part... please take another look.

Hello Andrea,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Actually i can't replicate your issue anymore. I can open the EasyBlog pages from Continue Reading link with no issues. Your site "http://community.bksv.com/" is not longer https. Not sure what you did here. Did you change anything recently?

Thanks!

The administrator is at community.bksv.com, but we actually display the community in an iframe at focus.bksv.com which I think I outlined in the site details earlier.

Hello Andrea,

Sorry for the late reply. Again I still can't re-replicate this issue http://screencast.com/t/41P7NzdGK9Nx Also this issue is not related to any component or Joomla. The main issue is that you are linking a insecure site in a secure site which is causing this issue.

Thanks!

Hi Adelene,

Thank you for your video... HOWEVER... if you go back and look at the site again and right click and open in new tab on any of the other links (ie the writer's name link) the links open in the new tab like this: "https://community.bksv.com/community-home/profile/82-simon-heath.html", BUT when I do that to the links GENERATED BY EASYBLOG, they open like this: "community.bksv.com/community-home/easyblog/entry/fresh-start-to-2014.html" (as you showed in your movie). The community site is not insecure... it only THINKS it is because YOUR links somehow drop out the https.

Please take another look and test some of the other links in the site to see what I am talking about.

Also, please read back through what I have already told you and work with that information to try to resolve this problem, because I already told you a while ago about the https being dropped off the links but only by the EASYBLOG component. I really didn't need you to send me a video of the link opening successfully when you are not even using the site in the way I have described it being used.

Hello Andrea,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. We may have missed your post earlier. I am not too sure if I understand your issue here but when I tried to access https://community.bksv.com/community-home/easyblog/categories/listings/products-blog.html , clicking on the "Continue Reading" link does generate the URLs as https:// . Am I missing anything here?

Hi Mark,

I tried it (in chrome) please see attached image - the url bar says it is not https.

Also... i need to be able to run the site from FOCUS.bksv.com, NOT community.bksv.com (I have only given this address because you need it to login to the administrator) The problems begin when I try to run it from within this wrapper. All my other links work fine, but the ones generated by easyblog do not.

Clicking on links in community.bksv.com works fine. please read all preceeding entries if you do not understand.

Andrea.

Hello Andrea,

were you able to click through using the 'continue reading' link from the snippet generated in the jomsocial newsfeed? all I got in your screencast was an image so i couldn't tell.

Hello Andrea,

Sorry but I am a little lost here as I thought the issues that you have posted here is regarding the padlock icon. This is the screen that I am seeing upon clicking on the "Continue Reading" link on JomSocial's stream, http://screencast.com/t/iUKurj9hJsMx

Hi Mark, I can see that it works now; it was not working when I first made this support request and still does not work from the article that was the initial cause of the problem. I am not sure what has changed but easyblog seems to be working as it should now from the jomsocial newsfeed. I'll let you know if the problem surfaces again.

Thanks.
Andrea.

How can you fix this on the latest version?

Adding
$this->uri = str_replace('http://', 'https://', (string)$this->uri);
to line 351 doesn't work and your screencast is expired.

		if( $html )
{
$items[ $index ] = '<img src="' . $this->uri . '/' . $fileName . '" />';
}
else
{
$items[ $index ] = $this->uri . '/' . $fileName;
}
}

Hello Levon,

Try this, on line 61 locate the codes below,

$this->uri = $storageURI;

Replace it with,

$this->uri =str_ireplace('http://', 'https://', $storageURI);
