There is a menu in the backend for the sorting of the list of conversation. You can change it: EasySocial > Themes > (theme) > Conversation. Here the screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/hNglLMOUD .
Or you're referring to this?

Our developer thinks that it is not practical to have the recent conversation message at the top while the reply is at the bottom.

Can you tell us which one do you refers to?

I am referring to the second screen shot you show.. hmmmm.. i think that is acceptable, if the reply will be at the bottom. But if there are already plenty of messages, is there a way that the old messages will collapse in like accordion menu? thanks for your reply.
