All of my discussions have a yellow banner with this phrase. Where does it come from? How do I get rid of it?

Hello - all of my discussions are locked.

If you login as a site user there is a menu box on the right side titled `Landscape Talk` that will take you to the discussion forum.

I have included admin username and password in optional information field.

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I have tried to logged as this user "Freda" account, but it seems like I can't see any post thread got this message :
"Sorry, the discussion is currently locked. You will not be able to post a reply at the moment."

Can you provide us with one of your user account which can access in your Joomla backend, so that we can double check with your category permission setting.

Also, can you provide us one of the discussion thread URL which having this issues.

I missed up you already provided with your Joomla backend login credential, may i know what is your forum rules like :

Can allow public user view the discussion and reply?
Or only allow registered user view the discussion and reply?

Hello

The forum is intended to collect feedback about subjects that administration creates. So the `discussions` have all been established by administration and registered users can only reply to these discussions. We are trying to keep it very simple.

Originally the message displayed was `Sorry, the discussion is currently locked. You will not be able to post a reply at the moment.`

Although this message was being displayed, if the registered users typed a reply and hit the reply button, it would post correctly. Everything appeared to be working fine, except the message was always displayed. I changed the message being displayed to `Please add your input below and click the Reply button` in the language file at /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easydiscuss.ini. I did this to reduce the confusion with the users.

COM_EASYDISCUSS_POST_IS_CURRENTLY_LOCKED="Please add your input below and click the `Reply` button"

The question is why is this message appearing?

By right, this message "Sorry, the discussion is currently locked. You will not be able to post a reply at the moment." shouldn't appeared if the post thread haven't get locked by administrator.

Can you provide us with your FTP access so we can better have a look of your current code?

It seems like that was our bug in Zinc theme, by the way, I already applied the fix in this file JoomlaFolder\components\com_easydiscuss\themes\zinc\post.reply.form.php

it should work fine now. By right, when the administrator locked the discussion thread, so all the user will not have the permission to reply on this discussion thread.

So we are back where we started. All of the discussions are locked. I do not know how they got locked and I do not know how to unlock them. Before this recent change, the error message was being displayed, but it was wrong and there was a Reply window that the user could use. Now the error message has been restored to its original meaning and the Reply window is gone.

It is a step in the wrong direction.

How do I unlock the discussions?

Hi Fred,

I have help you unlocked all your discussion post from your site, I think you have to reconfigure with your Easydiscuss ACL permission, because by right "lock discussion" permission should be assign to your Superuser and moderator.

Check my screenshot below how to enable the "lock" permission and how to unlock it.
