Hi,

I am getting this message when previewing an unpublished item.

I am logged in as the same user both front and back end.

I have no 3rd party SEF tools and this is a single language (English GB) site.

I have provided access details in the tab below.

Many thanks.

Rowan
Hello Rowan,

I've tried to replicate the issue by logged in to your frontend but somehow I've automatically logged out. Then I click on the popup Accept Cookies and login again. This time there is no automatically logged out and I can view the unpublished item: http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-11-18_1802.png . My best guess is the Accept Cookies plugin that caused the issue.

Hi,

Sadly it isn't.

I am going to give you the user I was using to look at. They are an administrator, not a super user.

I have completely disabled cookie confirm in the meantime for you to look.

Hello Rowan,

I've logged in as Nvisage2 and I can view the unpublished item: http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-11-18_1850.png . Did I missed anything? Please advise.

This site uses various dummy users (i.e. real users but not real people) for their blog publishing.
I have now changed the author to one of these users rather than the same user as the viewer.
Now I cannot preview the unpublished blog.
Is preview locked to the Author? The previewer will either be user type author or an administrator - but will rarely be the actual easyblog author of the blog entry.

The blog entry is now set to have an author of Cloisters News and neither an Author user or Administrator user can preview the blog entry.

Does this make more sense?

I've looked in the ACL and I can't see anything restrictive in there for this.

Any idea how to fix?

Thanks.

Rowan

Hello Rowan,

Correct me if I'm wrong, you want the Author usergroup to be able to see the preview? If so, the preview can only be seen by the author of the blog (not the Author usergroup) and the Admin of your site. If you want to let the Author Usergroup to be able see the preview, we need to add a hack to your file.

By the way, when you say Now I cannot preview the unpublished blog, you are logged in as the author of the blog? I'm sorry but I'm a little bit lost here.

Author's less important - we can ignore this user group..

Administrators however should be able to preview unpublished blogs not written by them. Currently they cannot.

Sorry for confusion.

Hello Rowan,

Please replace the attached file in: ../components/com_easyblog/views/entry/view.html.php and see how it goes. If this doesn't work, you can provide us your FTP access because I can't login to your current FTP access.
