Hi,

I have some questions about configurations of EasyBlog.
1. how can I create a list of categories at the right side of the pages? Should I create a certain type of list/menu in a module?
2. Same questions, but then concerning tags.
3. Same questions, but then concerning recent posts.
4. When you go to http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog/google-webmasters-tools-overzicht you see underneath the title: hits, font size, comments etc. How can I make disappear those things?
5. Same page, you see at the top the H1 SiteSuccess blog. How can I make that smaller and make it a h3?
6. Right now I am the only one who is writing the blog posts. Is it possible that my bio photo is not clickable and not directed to my biography?
7. Underneath my blog posts there is that block with my photo and some text.I do not want all this text or links. How or where can I change that?
8. http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog/Latest : it says recent posts at the top; how or where can I style this title recent posts?
9. I do not quite understand how and where I can translate all the texts from English to Dutch. I read the answer is a frequently asked questions, but it is still not clear to me. Should I translate all the things I need and I want to translate or do I just need to upload a file? If so, where can I get that file?

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Maurice
Hello Maurice Lehr,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
Please find the answers to your queries below.
1. how can I create a list of categories at the right side of the pages? Should I create a certain type of list/menu in a module?
>> If you're referring to put a list of categories module at your Easyblog frontpage right side, then you have to check your template position is it available this right position for your site?
I have checked in your Easyblog page ( http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog?tp=1 ), it seems like your template is not available to set module at the right side, the category module you can download from http://stackideas.com/downloads/modules/easyblog

2. Same questions, but then concerning tags.
>> You can download the all Easyblog module from here http://stackideas.com/downloads/modules/easyblog -> Related Posts module for EasyBlog
After downloaded, then extract the file, install this module-> mod_easyblogtagcloud.zip

3. Same questions, but then concerning recent posts.
>> You can download the all Easyblog module from here http://stackideas.com/downloads/modules/easyblog -> Related Posts module for EasyBlog
After downloaded, then extract the file, install this module-> mod_latestblogs.zip

4. When you go to http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog/google-webmasters-tools-overzicht you see underneath the title: hits, font size, comments etc. How can I make disappear those things?
>> You can disappear from your backend > Easyblog > theme > select your theme > Disable Show Hits, Show Comments Link, Show Font Resizer

5. Same page, you see at the top the H1 SiteSuccess blog. How can I make that smaller and make it a h3?
>> GOTO this file JoomlaFolder\components\com_easyblog\themes\default\toolbar.php
LINE 78

<h1 class="component-title reset-h"><?php echo JText::_( $title ); ?></h1>

Replace with

<h3 class="component-title reset-h"><?php echo JText::_( $title ); ?></h3>

6. Right now I am the only one who is writing the blog posts. Is it possible that my bio photo is not clickable and not directed to my biography?
>> Is it possible provide some screenshot regarding which you mentioned that bio photo in your site?

7. Underneath my blog posts there is that block with my photo and some text.I do not want all this text or links. How or where can I change that?
>> Do you mean that underneath of your blog post there blocked with your photo and some text? Is it possible provide some screenshot which blog post you having this issues and provide with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this ?

8. http://www.sitesuccess.nl/EasyBlog/Latest : it says recent posts at the top; how or where can I style this title recent posts?
>> You can change the language string from this file JoomlFolder\language\en-GB\en-GB.com_easyblog.ini (If you're using English language)

9. I do not quite understand how and where I can translate all the texts from English to Dutch. I read the answer is a frequently asked questions, but it is still not clear to me. Should I translate all the things I need and I want to translate or do I just need to upload a file? If so, where can I get that file?
>> Follow the instruction below to install Dutch language in your site :
1. Install language file.
2. Go to backend > Extensions > Extensions Manager > Install Language > select language > click INSTALL
3. Download the Dutch language zip file from http://stackideas.com/downloads/languages/easyblog (ctrl + F) <- search "Dutch (Netherlands) for Easyblog"
4. After downloaded, Go to backend > Extension Manager > Upload/Install (Browse just you downloaded that language zip file)
5. Go to backend > Extensions > Language Manager > Select Language and click DEFAULT

If you stuck on which step, please provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you configure with this. Please advise.

8. How/where can I style these words?
9. OK, clear. Can I just change the dutch translations in this file? And will it not be overwritten during an update of EasyBlog?

My answers and questions in the same order as your last reply.
5. Author LINE 84: should I just delete this line? Or is there a better way?
6. LINE 88: same question.
7. LINE 100 1-117: same question. And is there a way to set the number of recent posts that is shown? If so, how/where?
8. Remove day of the week, LINE 39 - 47: should I delete al these lines? Or just a part? I do want to show the date that the blogpost was posted, but not the day of the week.

Important:
I understand that all my adjustments will be overridden during an update, correct?
Is there no way to save my adjustments in some custom file? Like I do with my css adjustments in my template.

Hello Maurice Lehr,

5. Author LINE 84: should I just delete this line? Or is there a better way?
>> i thought you would like to change something about the link, if you want to delete it, just remove that link i mentioned LINE 84, because we do not have the option to disable it.

6. LINE 88: same question.
>> Yes, you can remove it start from this link LINK 87 until 89.

7. LINE 100 1-117: same question. And is there a way to set the number of recent posts that is shown? If so, how/where?
>> Unfortunately we do not have this option for the setting, but you can download the Easyblog latest blog post module from our site http://stackideas.com/downloads/modules/easyblog for display on your page, so the user easy to know what is the latest blog post recently.

8. Remove day of the week, LINE 39 - 47: should I delete al these lines? Or just a part? I do want to show the date that the blogpost was posted, but not the day of the week.
>> I'm mistake of this, actually you can disable the creation date from your backend > Easyblog > Theme > select your theme > Show creation date - Disable , see my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/ChvQBnbDp

Important:
I understand that all my adjustments will be overridden during an update, correct?
Is there no way to save my adjustments in some custom file? Like I do with my css adjustments in my template.

>> Yes, you're correct. Hmm, if you do the modification file like you mentioned above, you have to backup first before update, if you do some CSS adjustment, so you have to apply your CSS code in your template CSS file, so when you update to latest version, it will not overridden in your template file.
Hope this help.
