Hi!
EasyDiscuss really looks great, I am just testing KUNENA and EasyDiscuss, but my feeling tells me that EasyDiscuss is by far better!

Three questions:

1) How do I get rid of the menu name "MOTORFLUG" in the URL: https:// www piloten at/motorflug/forum-v2 ?

2) When I make a post, I am not getting an eMail notification about the new post? Is a CronJob setup mandatory?

3) Telegram setup: I can post into a Telegram channel, but the syntax MOTORFLUG: *{title}* at {permalink} doesnt work completeley, as the title of the post in not included. Would it be possibel to add also - lets say - the first 30 chars of the forum post into the message?

Thanks!
Hi Alexander,

Can you provide us your backend access so I can take a look at your configuration?

Cronjobs are not mandatory but recommended since sending email on page load place a larger burden on the server and only processes when someone loads an EasyDiscuss page on the frontend.

Yes sure. To which eMail-address?
In the answer box, there are no hidden input fields for that.

OK great - I have updated the credenitals in my site profile!

I also would like to add another question to the original post:

4) Is it possible to answer on eMail-notifications directly, or is it mandatory to login to the forum first?

Thanks!

I'm getting this when trying to access ED backend(http://take.ms/rGrS7). Please advice. Thanks.
Is it possible to answer on eMail-notifications directly, or is it mandatory to login to the forum first?
Unfortunately this is not possible. Replying via email will not convert it to a reply in the discussion.

Sorry. It´s the Firewall, which doesnt allow me to setup a new super user account. I have disabled it temporarily and also modified the access data. Please try it again, thank you.

Re: eMail-notifications: Can I at least add the content of the posting into the eMail-notification? Or at least a teaser of it? That I know, what others were posting, and if it is worth to login?

Hey Alexsander,

Thanks. The access is working now.

For the menu item name, currently it is not possible to shorten it without removing the ED's parent menu item 'MOTORFLUG' but using this 3rd party component(link), it may be possible to do so.

For Telegram's autopost, you may use {snippet} for the introtext and the amount of characters is dependent on this setting(http://take.ms/BRBTv).
Can I at least add the content of the posting into the eMail-notification? Or at least a teaser of it?
I checked your email activities and the content snippet are indeed added into the notification emails(http://take.ms/JVIai).

Thanks for looking at it, Raymond.

Regarding eMail-notification, what about that? Because I am not receiving any eMail notifications upon answers on my posts, etc.

Hey Alexander,

Have you already setup the cronjob for EasyDiscuss yet? We use cronjobs to process the emails in the queue instead of sending out immediately when a post is made because a post may consist of hundreds of subscribers in a thread and sending them all out after posting, would be a bad user experience for the user as it would delay their reply submission.

You could refer to the documentation on cronjobs at https://stackideas.com/docs/easydiscuss/administrators/cronjobs

Hi Mark,
I understood that Cronjobs are not mandatory.

(Raymond: Cronjobs are not mandatory but recommended since sending email on page load place a larger burden on the server and only processes when someone loads an EasyDiscuss page on the frontend.)

I am sure, EasyDiscuss pages were loaded on the frontend, as I were doing a lot of testing today

Ah, that is because this option was disabled, http://take.ms/r9Yss (Which is disabled by default) because we don't want your page performance to be jeopardized when users browse the discussions.

I have now enabled it, and you should be getting the e-mails
