Hello all,
We're back working again, and I've just done the first new diary entry for January.
Happy New Year, all!

I have encountered these problems in making this new post:
1) The scheduled post did not autopost to either Facebook or Twitter. Regarding the Facebook autoposting settings, I had to manually re-enter the application secret number, as it had expired, and the 'renew token' button did not do anything. Anyway, I found the number and entered it, before i did the posting, and there is a new valid date till 6 March, so I think I did it correctly. I did not alter Twitter settings.
Is there now a way to send the new Diary post to Facebook and Twitter, and do you know why it didn't work?
2) I had to re-make the blog a few times, as I kept getting kicked out of the backend. When I'm working on a blog, it seems to think that I am 'inactive' so I get logged out without knowing: then of course the work will not save. Is there a way of preventing this happening in the future?
3) What is the 'Preview Post' button supposed to do? It does not give me a preview, it just acts as a 'save' button.

cheers, Robin
Happy New year too Robin

It seems like your Easyblog Facebook autopost setting didn't set which page you want to autopost, so I will not work. After I re-authentication with your Facebook again and select which page from the list ( http://screencast.com/t/TREjryN49Aty ), it work fine now. You can check my attached screenshot below.

It seems like your Joomla session is not set long enough, by default it will set to 15 minute, after 15 minute it will auto logged out from backend. By the way, I already help you set to 999, it should be okay now. (screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/EOjvcBwc )

If you would like to preview your post ( http://screencast.com/t/2e3fZB86HE ), you have to login in your frontend first is because when you click on "Preview Post" button, it will redirect to your frontend and preview the post.

Hope this help.

Thanks for the quick reply and attention Arlex:
1) a) So if it was a Facebook setup problem only, why did the twitter post not work?

1) b) How do I now get yesterdays' diary item to post to Facebook and Twitter?

1 c) Why is the 'renew coupon' button not working on the Facebook autopost tab? The re-authentication process is a bit complicated, it seems, so it would be great to have it working!

Thanks for looking into the session time.

Cheers, Robin

Hey Robin,

1) a) So if it was a Facebook setup problem only, why did the twitter post not work?

Can you pass me with your Twitter access so we can help you check on this? Because I remember my test post did autopost to your Twitter account page. (You can edit your first post and include your Twitter access)

1) b) How do I now get yesterdays' diary item to post to Facebook and Twitter?

You can directly click on that social button from your backend > Easyblog > post > screenshot here : http://screencast.com/t/Tlefm146lUmX

1 c) Why is the 'renew coupon' button not working on the Facebook autopost tab? The re-authentication process is a bit complicated, it seems, so it would be great to have it working!

Actually that `renew token` is just a design, to renew this Facebook token you only click "Revoke access" button, then it will automatically generate a new token access for you after you click sign in via Facebook button again.

Hope this help.

Hi, you are working late!
So; our Twitter access updated in the site details.
Yes, I saw that your post worked, so it's strange. It would be good to know the answer. Anyway, it is very useful to know I can manually do the posting using those buttons you just showed me; I will try it later, when more watchers will be online.

Re the 'renew token' button: I think your design is very confusing! I think you could easily make it understandable with a few design changes! I think also that the Preview button should have an explanation to it, such as how you explained it to me earlier.

Thanks, Robin

Hey Robin,

Agreed, I think there should be a "Renew Token" button that simulates both the revoking and redirecting you to the FB page to re-authorize again.

Andreas,

Please start a new ticket here and provide us with the access to your site along with Facebook's login credentials

Hi, the manual Facebook post worked fine, but what is the reason that the image ( http://screencast.com/t/nocMFdalgo ) before the readmore wasn't included?

http://screencast.com/t/lR0aGsGOz

Is it because I set it up with multiple text blocks? what should I have done to get the image auto-sent to facebook?

Cheers, Robin

Your image is too small. Facebook has a minimum requirements for image, https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/best-practices

It is ideal for you to use post covers

Also, please remember to set a domain for your support license at http://stackideas.com/dashboard

Thanks for that: I'll try and remember, and fill in the 'post covers' (I'd ignored that , as I didn't understand what it was supposed to be for.)
I've filled in the domain.

PS I am a little concerned that I've given you our twitter login over what seems to be a public forum. Bad idea. I thought it was a private post. Could you remove it please? Thanks.

Over and out, Robin

Hey Robin,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Thanks for that: I'll try and remember, and fill in the 'post covers' (I'd ignored that , as I didn't understand what it was supposed to be for.)

You're welcome.
Base on the 'post covers' you can treat it as manage your post listing display nicely and attract more user view your post, you can take a look of our demo site -> http://demo.stackideas.com/ .

PS I am a little concerned that I've given you our twitter login over what seems to be a public forum. Bad idea. I thought it was a private post. Could you remove it please? Thanks.

I already help you removed it.

By the way, in the future you can just include your site's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site rather than needing to keep adding them in your replies.

Hello Arlex,
I'm seeing if i can correct that Faceblog post (Nurturing the basics) which didn't pick up the image. I have an image which is a better size. However, If I go to the existing Post and try and update it by adding 'post cover' I am worried that it will the actually appear on our Diary entry, and look rather messy. I just want this image to be sent to the Post's version on Facebook. ( https://www.facebook.com/Sightlines-Initiative-131705481523/)
Is this possible? Or should I just see it as a lesson for the future?

Hey Robin,

When you add a post cover, it will be used on the blog listings I would suggest that you try this for future posts since this post is already submitted to Facebook.
