I have a frontpage blog layout page with posts. I turned on the feature to display comments.
The first few blogs do show the comments below the respective blog posts but one indicates there are comments but the comment does not appear like the others.
Hello Gilles,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Do you using the 3rd party comment system?
Also, is it possible provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this? Please advise.

Hello Gilles,

By default, front page view will filter the comments from Guest. This is to minimize the view so that only comment from registered user will be shown. However, you can replace the attached file in this folder: ../components/com_easyblog/helpers/helper.php so it will include the Guest's comment as well.

Thanks Nick.

That explains it. I find this an odd behaviour, dont' you think?
Why not have a configurable setting for his as I would think many websites would like to show all comments, including those from guests.

It's confusing showing there is "1 comment" on the frontpage layout but not showing the comment while for other posts which have registered users who have commented, showing those comments on the same page. Visitors would question "Why does it show "1 comment" when none appear to be there?"

I'm not too fond of replacing the file as any updates to EB (of which I reported a bug already, therefore expecting an update in the near future) will overwrite this. The proper fix would be to add a switch in the admin panel, no?

Your thoughts?
PS. thanks again for the care and attention in the support you provide.

Hello Gilles,

Yes, I agree with you. This would be great if it is included as an option in admin panel. I will voice this to our developer and see how it goes. Don't worry, I will fight for this feature.

Thanks for going to bat for the inclusion of this feature Nick.
I think many would benefit.
I'll play safe, not change the code and keep my fingers crossed for an update on this ... including the fix for the "publish" bug I found (and reported).
Thanks again!
