In "Registration" I am trying to change the word "Account" to "Student Profile".

I looked at the language files. I tried Joomla core "Language Overrides" with no luck.

Extra questions:
1. Can I edit everything in "Language Overrides"?
2. It appears there is no way to edit language files from the /administrator area?

Help!

Thank you
Hello Ken,

I am sorry for the late reply.
I cannot replicate this issue with my local since I can override the backend language correctly. Can you check the settings here: http://screencast.com/t/vghnGpVt2 and you need to select this Administrator first. If this issue is still persist, perhaps you can provide us backend access and ftp access so that we can helps you debug and fix this issue on your site.

Please be advise.
Thanks.

Hello Ken,

Please find your answers below:
1. Can I edit everything in "Language Overrides"?
>> Yes you may. But it is advisable to edit the language file(en-GB.com_easysocial.ini) itself to prevent any issues that might happen during editing.
2. It appears there is no way to edit language files from the /administrator area?
>> Yes there is no function to edit the language file in the backend. You need to edit the file from the site FTP.

You can find this language string: COM_EASYSOCIAL_FIELDS_PROFILE_DEFAULT_ACCOUNT_INFORMATION="Account" in Joomla\administrator\language\en-GB\en-GB.com_easysocial.ini.

Hope this will help.
Thanks.

With your help I was able to make the text change. Thank you

Questions:
Will the language files can never get over-written during software updates?

If they can be over-written, are you planning to create a way so that they cannot be over-written in the future?

Hello Ken,

Thanks for the update.
Yes. The language file will get overriden by the latest file and it is best for you to make a backup first before run EasySocial update. You also can use Joomla Language Override to helps you to override the language strings. If you have anymore question, please don't hesitate to ask us.

Hope this will help.
Thanks.

FYI, I put the language file change in both language file overrides

but the change did not take effect:
administrator/language/overrides/en.GB.override.ini

did take effect:
language/overrides/en.GB.override.ini

All is good.

Thank you
