Social Share of Photos

When someone shares a photo from the news feed in Easy Social to Facebook it does not embed the photo or description. Instead it puts in the the site logo and when you click the site logo in Facebook it takes you to the correct photo and page on the EasySocial Site. It used to embed the photo correctly into Facebook. Not sure when it quit so I cannot tie it to a specific upgrade.

Sorry for the delay of this reply.

I've tried to access in your Joomla backend, but it keep redirect to your homepage this is because you have enabled lockdown mode in Easysocial settings, if you enable this, Facebook unable to crawl all of your Easysocial stream content/image, because they do not have login access in your site.

To fix this, you have to disable "Lockdown mode" from backend > Easysocial > settings > general .

Then go to Facebook debugger tool -> https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ clear your stream URL cache. You have to "Scrape Again" until your desired content appeared as shown in this link http://screencast.com/t/guI1epq5pf7

I thought the issue was solved and it may be as solved as much as possible. The share Facebook feature does work partially now. It will share a photo, but not the text that is in the post with the photo. Also if there is no text in the post, then it only shares the user profile picture and not the text. If I write a comment when sharing to Facebook that comment will post to Facebook

I removed the post from my Facebook account as I was testing on my personal account. So I do not have the Facebook URL. I can give you my wife's login to the Easy Social front end though and you can try sharing the photo in the attached screen shot to any Facebook account to see how it acts. The photo of the custom motorcycle is one she posted today if sharing a post of your own makes any difference.

Also I did not expect you to reply over the weekend, but thanks for the excellent support you always provide.

I've tried to duplicate your wife's post to test your issues. As you can see at your wife account as shown http://screencast.com/t/csgEYAqFRe . It look like, for the first time, when we wanted to share the post, it doesn't show any content yet. But on Facebook, it shown correct content as shown http://screencast.com/t/ViZ2ATwj . This is because Facebook didn't recognize yet the url you shared for the first time.

After second time(sharing), the content you desire will appeared as Facebook have recognize those url. You can try and see how it goes. If the problem persist, tell us.
