Hi, we have been using easyblog for a while now. One thing that we have noticed is that the Facebook like plugin loads a js file from facebook that takes a while to load on page loads.
In some cases this causes our layout to break until facebook plugin loads. is there an easy way of making the plugin load more quickly?
Thanks
Lars
Hello Lars,

Hm, when I accessed that page, I seem to be hitting this error,

Application Error: There was a problem getting data for the application you requested. The application may not be valid, or there may be a temporary glitch. Please try again later.

Is the application id set correctly?

Hello Lars,

I wish there's a work around for this but unfortunately in order to load Facebook buttons, you must render their javascripts There are no work around for this unfortunately. However, in EasyBlog we have already rendered the js file asynchronously so it really shouldn't affect your page load at all

Might have to clarify....if the facebook plugin has not loaded yet.. our layout breaks...but the page has loaded with some weirdness to it..once the facebook like buttuns have loaded everything looks ok..but there is in some cases a few seconds delay where the page looks "weird" and depending on the visitors speed (download and pc) that delay where the page looks weird might be longer or shorter..understand what i am getting at...?

Hello Lars,

Hm, to be honest, we can't really control how Facebook is generating those buttons. We only load the javascript libraries that Facebook requires asynchronously (so it doesn't affect your page load). Based on what you see from the inspector of Google Chrome, that is only the amount of time required to load the script but it's not blocking the page from loading (if the script is still loading). That's the beauty of asynchronous loading.

However, if you really think that Facebook button is causing your site to slow down, I guess the only way to report this is on Facebook because (I am just guessing) that their CDN probably has some issues. I can load your site up just fine by the way.

Sorry about this, seems that I might have been given you wrong page to recreate the problem. it might have been something we have caused when tweaking the templates...not sure...
this page
http://www.genealogi.se/component/easyblog/blogger/listings/ted?Itemid=3178

Gives a strange footer, after some time the page renders ok, might not be related to a bug in easyblog but something else...sorry for the confusion..

that's odd, we had a facebook admin id in easyblog, I removed that and now it would seem that the footer looks OK? can you verify?
