Hi

I have EasyDiscuss and EasySocial installed on my site along with some other components. The theme I am using has a slider showing on the top of every page. This slider works well on all other pages and components but however fails to load on ED and ES pages. It just shows a loading animation but it never shows.
Using Chrome inspector, I got this message -

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'opera' of undefined
jquery.mobile.customized.min.js:10 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property 'touchstart' of undefined
camera.min.js:4 Uncaught TypeError: a(...).live is not a function

It appears the slider module is conflicting with two components. Any suggestion on how to avoid this conflict. The site is on local server for now so I cannot share a link now.

Hi

I have resolved the issue in my own way. I removed the slider and installed another one similar to it and thankfully, it worked. I just had to do a little styling to get the same result as the old one.
Thanks for helping out on this. I appreciate that.

Hi Adeniyi,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

Hm, without direct access its quite hard to tell what is the exact cause that causing this issue. Perhaps you can temporarily upload your site to test server and provide us the access so we can check on the issue closely? By the way have you tried to consult with your template provider as well so they can give some rough idea on what the error message is?

Please advise.

Hi

The site is finally on live server. Please check these pages http://scubadivingintobago.com/activities/dashboard, http://scubadivingintobago.com/groups/groups?filter=all, http://scubadivingintobago.com/forum/latest, etc
Only pages of the two components are affected. On other pages and other extensions installed on the website, I have no problem with the slider, e.g. http://scubadivingintobago.com, http://scubadivingintobago.com/diving-in-tobago/directory, http://scubadivingintobago.com/special-offers/all-deals, etc.
It seems some aspect of your components are conflicting with the theme slider.
How can i fix this please

Hi Adenlyl,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

Have you checked with your module mod_camera_slideshow regarding on the error shown in your browser console so they can give a better idea on the issue since the error is generating from the module itself.

If possible kindly provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can check this directly.

Hi

I am not really a programmer so I can do little here. I have added my site address here - http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site containing the site access detail.
Please help me look into it.
Thanks for your support.

Hi Adeniyi,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

Hm, to be honest I am not entirely sure what causing the slider to not functioning inside easysocial and easydiscuss components. The only clue that we have is the error message shown inside the console as you can see from my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/KpEf1zv1dF . The error seems to only come from the module javascript file itself.

By the way may I know have you try to follow my suggestion before to consult the module developers and see if they can give some idea about the issue here?

Hi

I have spent a whole day talking to the theme provider but they said they cannot guarantee that the theme will work with all extensions. They insist your extension is causing the conflicts because the slider works well with other components and other pages. I really cannot contest this as it is the truth as it stands even though I do not agree with their reluctance to help with this.
Your component is more important to be than the theme as themes can be easily replaced. I have however invested so much time into the theme and the website than to start looking for a new theme again.
Can you take a closer look on this and recommended a fix to this please?
Thanks

Hey Adeniyi,

I have tried accessing your site and it seems to be working for me on both Firefox and Chrome, http://screencast.com/t/tnQWPbZ1iB .

We can try our best to assist you with this but it seems like your template is loading a minified version of jquery.isotope and there is no way to debug this. See /templates/theme1352/js/jquery.isotope.min.js . You can't debug this file

I strongly advise that you contact them to look into this or at least provide the original source.
