Ders,
I have a big problem with my site.
All users are complaining because the site is too slow and unusable.
I use a dedicated server with the hosting Italian Netsons (http://www.netsons.it).
I also contacted the hosting and they told me that the problem is the component EasySocial that slows the whole machine.
I await urgent news.
Hi there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it weekends for all of us here.

I've checked your site and it seems like you have enabled "process email on page load" that can slow down your site since easysocial will try to process a cron whenever the page is loaded on your site. Perhaps you can try to setup a cronjob instead and turn off the options above from your backend > easysocial > settings > general > emails and see how it goes? You can refer to our documentation here on how to setup cronjob on for your easysocial, http://stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/cronjobs .

Hope these help.

Hi there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

I believe this has nothing to do with easysocial components itself as the initial request made to your site took around 13 seconds before it proceed with other process and it was loading your frontpage instead of easysocial. Check my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/cOdRRWukm .

Perhaps you might want to check with your webhosting service provider regarding on this initial request since it is not control by your site. In the meantime, I have disabled send email on page load on your site.

Hi Gluseppe,

I just checked your site and it seems like you have set your upload_max_filesize value to "1G" instead of 1028M and the system detect the memory limit as 1M instead. Refer my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/CFaHkYalImhO . Can you change the value from 1G to 1028M instead and see if the image upload can work correctly after that?

Hi Gluseppe,

Regarding your issue with the slowness in EasySocial, I not sure if this issue is related to EasySocial or from your server but what i noticed is, even when I am at backend by saving a setting in EasySocial page or enable a module in your Joomla module manager, the process can take up to 7 seconds

By the way, can you send me the mysql-slow log so that I can see if any slow queries being logged? Also, can you pass me you phpMyAdmin access so that I can run some test on your site?

To be frank with you, your site currently has about 100 users and EasySocial should be able to handle that amount of users and data. May i know what is your dedicated server spec?

Please advise.

Hi Gluseppe,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

You can enter in the our phpMyAdmin directly form cpanel acess who I send you in my first post.

Do you mean the this url is to connect to your website cpanel? http://www.netsons.it
Also, it seems like you miss out the login details for your cpanel?

By the way, today i did another round of testing on your site and I noticed you've enabled the 'system - debug' and 'system - user log' from your Joomla plugin manager. I've disabled these two plugins and the page load does reduce from 50++s to 30++ second. 30++ seconds still are not acceptable I then further turn off below plugins and i gain about 10s reduce on the page load.

System - CometChat
System - JA Google Map
System - JFBCSystem
System - K2
System - JCC - JS CSS Control

I've enabled back the above plugins.

In order for me to further investigate your issue, can i have your SSH root access to your server so that I can monitor how is your httpd and mysqld usage on your server? We might able to figure out what causing the slowness on your site.

Please advise.

Hi Gluseppe,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your issue of the slowness, today I cleared your Smart Search indexed items and it seems like by doing so, I now get a better page load. Approx. 14s compare to previous page load speed of 30++s. Anyway, I've check your database records and with the amount of data you've currently, your site cannot be loading that slow! I still think something else is making your site slow. I not sure if this is server's hardware related issue but if you can test with other hosting company, that will be a good way to diagnose the page load.

I think there is a serious problem because the problem with upload photo is the same also after the upgrade at ph system.

Regarding the above, I've checked your site and apparently your server did not compiled with PHP GD library. EasySocial require this library to be installed on your php in order for image upload to work. You can check EasySocial's requirement at this link. http://stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/welcome/getting-started

Please advise.

Thank you for the reply and for collaboration.
For now the site is still a bit 'slow, I do not know what to do. The servr is dedicated and do not understand why is so slow again.
For photos, the first loaded it with no problems now because he was born with this problem? What can I do for the library?
Thaks

To be sure if its due to the server or the website it self i suggest transferring a copy of your website on another server, you can take a vps from vultr for example for some hours to test, you can use serverpilot to install a secured web hsoting environment. (use a temporary domain)

if the website still load slowly then i belive its due to some configuration.

cheers

Hi Gluseppe,

Ok, thank you. And for upload a pohotos? What can I do for the library?

Regarding the above, you will need to consult with your hosting provider and ask them to install GD library to your server PHP

Hope this help and have a nice day!
