Hi,

Since installing EasySocial the size of my Akeeba backups has skyrocketed. Back when I only had JomSocial the backup package was weighing in at about 170MB. After installing ES the size increased to 239MB. That is understandable with a big new component. When I un-installed JS it went down to about 235MB. Since then, each update of ES has increased the backup size roughly 10-20MB. Now, after about 5 ES updates in the last month the package is now weighing about 293MB.

I have browsed the file structure looking for old install packages and things but couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. Where could all this extra weight be coming from?
Hello Steven,

Hm, can you check if those temporary folders located in the following folder still exists on the site?

/administrator/components/com_easysocial/setup/packages/
/administrator/components/com_easysocial/setup/tmp/

Yes, they are still there and have all the install packages in them. I excluded them from Akeeba and I also found a php error log in root at 36MB that I have also excluded. I also excluded an ES tmp directory in the /media folder. That alone has trimmed 70MB off the backup size. Not sure where all the other "fat" is but thanks for pointing me to that ES folder with all the installs inside it!

Thanks for updating Steven. Hm, that's strange because the installer will actually remove all those tmp files after installation. Could you remove them and try this out on the next version?
