Hi you all.

I renewed and update to the new ES 1.4.1.

However, having a bit of a problem.

When i install the Video App. I does not immediately show.
Or should it not immediately show?
However, i log out and then log back in and it still does not show up under applications.
and also when i click on the Video settings or manage video i am not seeing the option to make it a feature video.
Please help.

Is the Video feature only able to accept video links.
Will a user not be able to unload videos to the site from their phones or computer?
It is not giving me a link to upload videos.
Please help.

I am also not seeing the Translation feature.
Should it automatically appear?
Hey Anthony,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply, please find your answer in your queries below :

Can you check from your backend > Easysocial > application > is it got enable that application?
If yes, and still can't appear on your site, perhaps you can provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this.

You have to entered the Path to FFMpeg as suggested by your hosting provider.
Once you get the correct path, try enter in your backend > Easysocial > video > Path to FFMpeg (Check my screenshot below)

I am also not seeing the Translation feature.
Should it automatically appear?

You have to enable that bing translation option from backend > Easysocial > stream then get the Bing Client ID/Bing Client Secret (Check my screenshot below)

Hi Alex, Thanks for your reply

Yes indeed, the Video App is Enabled. But is still does not show.

The path to the FFMpeg is already entered. Is it entered by default by ES? The path i see is: /opt/local/bin/ffmpeg

Or do i have to enter something different? Or will it work with this path?

Also please tell me how to fix the feature video option.

Secondly, since i did the update i am having a problem with events. It is no longer giving me the option to enter the event description when i am creating an event. it now says: "No theme file found for this event. You might be trying to display content in an event that do not need to display.: event/description/" See the attached screenshot.

and, in upload Video, is there a way to adjust the Maximum file size to increase it from 8mb?

Thanks.

Hey Anthony,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is actually a public day off for us here. Sorry, but I am not really sure what you are trying to achieve here. Are you trying to allow video uploads on the site?

For video uploads to work, you need to contact your web hosting provider and check if they actually have ffmpeg installed. If they do, you need to get the absolute path to the ffmpeg binaries from them.

Once that is done, set the path in Settings > Videos > General under the option "Path to FFMpeg".

Hi mark. Thank .

But I understand all of what you say.

But when the video app is installed I am not seeing it. And the feature option to feature a video is also not available.

And my third issue is with the events. Which is the most important problem that I need to fix immediatel . Please see the screenshot that I attached. I am not seeing the option to add description to an event since I have updated to 1.4.1

What do you mean by video app? The video app is responsible to process stream items and also display the widgets on your profile if you have created any videos on the site.

To feature a video, you need to be a site admin. Please see my screen shot here, http://screencast.com/t/NrHaV93o

As for the events description issue, please provide us with the ftp access.

The video app. I thought once you install it. It would have appeared on the left hand side similarly to the other apps such as task etc..

And I thought regular usrers could feature vidioes. Not only admin?

I have not yet set up an FTP. I am able to access the files otherwise tho. Can you tell me what might be the issue and how to fix it let me try.

Thanks a lot

The video app does not do that It displays videos as widgets on your profile and processes the stream items for videos. Only admin can feature videos on the site, normal users aren't allowed to feature videos.

As for the event description issue, I need the ftp access to see why it's reporting a missing file

OK

But shouldn't the video app appear at the same place where the other apps are?

When I set up the ftp I will let you know later today.

Thanks

Hey Anthony,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply,

and can you please also check why does my ES backend looks like that.

I believe that was cache issue in your browser, you can take a look of my attached screenshot below, it work fine for me.
Try clear your Joomla and browser cache and see how it goes?

Secondly, since i did the update i am having a problem with events. It is no longer giving me the option to enter the event description when i am creating an event. it now says: "No theme file found for this event. You might be trying to display content in an event that do not need to display.: event/description/" See the attached screenshot.

I've help you updated the latest file in JoomlaFolder\media\com_easysocial\apps\fields\event\description\themes it should display correctly now.

Hope this help.

Hey Anthony,

You're welcome, actually that issue already solved in 1.4.2 version, perhaps you can download the latest launcher from http://stackideas.com/dashboard then update in your another site and the issue is it still persists?

If yes, you can copy the `themes` folder (JoomlaFolder/media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/event/description/themes) from your current site to your another site.
