A few questions regarding Easysocial login with Facebook.

1) When user tries to register, facebook asks:
Site will receive the following info: your public profile, friends list, email, news, birthday, work history, status updates, hometown, hobbies, town, photos, website and personal description.

Where are the settings that indicate appearing here all these fields? Is it in easysocial, or in my facebook developer page or maybe it's not possible to configure at all?? I thing that allowing to access so much personal information would frighten potential user and he will not sign in at all!

2) As user tried to login, none of information from facebook was imported into profile (gender, town). Is it planned in the future?

3) Is it possible to do that regular sign in user would require email activation, but sign in with facebook would not need email activation, as facebook account would be like guarantee that its not fake user or robot. I would really love that feature as it seems very useful and logical for me.

4) In admin backend Facebook Integrations settings I chose option "Import Profile Picture", and when user tried to login he was asked if profile picture or cover should be imported, user has chosen "NO", but profile picture was still imported. So is it possible to let the user to decide whether to import picture or not?

Thank you.
You will find the settings In EasySocial Dashboard > Settings > Facebook Integrations - Configure the site's Facebook integrations here.

If you have everything configured properly in your Facebook App on the developers page, it should work properly.

These are the settings in EasySocial. See attachment:

Is there an option to reimport or not reimport for each login via Facebook?
Say the user updates their facebook profile image but they do or do not want it to update on EasySocial, can that be controlled?

Hi,

Currently we do not reimport the details and there is no option to do this as well.

The register with Facebook will only execute once and the data will be stored in EasySocial's table. The next time a user use Facebook to sign in, is only to authenticate.

Hi,

1. Currently this is hardcoded.

2. This is planned in the future.

3. You can create a separate profile, and assign it as the default profile, and set it to either require activation/approval or not. Currently there is no separate default profile for Facebook sign up. Facebook sign up uses the default profile directly.

4. I've created a bug report on this and we will see if can fix this in the future.

As there were some updates (fixing) with facebook, I just checked with version v1.0.8:

There still are some problems with importing profile picture:
- If in backend "Import Profile Picture" set to YES, but user chooses during the registration NO - photo is still imported
- If in backend "Import Profile Picture" set to NO, but user still sees the options to import it or not, if he chooses YES - photo is not imported (so that does not look good).

HI there,

Sorry for the late reply. We missed this thread

Regarding the facebook profile image import, this issue already fixed in version 1.0.10
If you are not using the latest version, then you will need to upgrade your EasySocial to latest version of 1.0.10.

Hope this help and have a nice day
Sam
