Hello,

I installed EasyBlog on a template that does not have a sidebar when I create a new page. The creator of the template does not configure this position in the index template but directly in affected pages with pieces of code. To view the EasyBlog modules in the sidebar I have to insert the code in a file EasyBlog but after long search I do not know where to intervene. I said that I created a "blog" menu that redirects to the home page of EasyBlog. If someone had the solution I would be very happy.

thank you
Hello,

Sorry but I don't quite get your issues here. Do you mean your template does not come with module positions? If so, how do you place modules on a sidebar? You need to ensure that your template actually supports a sidebar?

thank you for your reply, I express myself badly ... the template has a lateral sidebar but it is not set in the index.php file of the template but in the files of the pages that you need . For example I have a position in the page sidebar articles joomla where I can insert my modules , a lateral position in virtuemart but when I create a new menu in joomla that points to a new page as the home page of EasyBlog the sidebar is not set . The creator of the template told me he had set the position directly in the file / templates / my template / html / com_virtuemart / cart / default.php for example. I know it's not as terrible configuration ! So to be able to display this sidebar with EasyBlog I have to add code in the file that EasyBlog call. Yet it is located in the container of my page but I have to add a column with this code but I do not know in which file intervene.

Here I hope to be more precise

Thank you for your help

Hello,

Ah, I see. Take a look at the file /components/com_easyblog/themes/default/structure.php . However, this is actually a bad practice as ideally, it really should just be done within your Joomla template itself

Hello and thank you for your precious help, I could set my problem. I know it is not the best solution but I do not have a choice, the creator of the template must be updated with a better use of positions, until I do what I can ... lol it me still promises a lot of work to customize this template!

Thank you again for your work

You are most welcome but I think you should start pressuring your template developer because he must be living in an ice age It's already 2014 now!
