Hello!

I'm just wondering why is the new sidebar module not showing anything when published in the dashboard (es-dashboard-aside)? Why is that?

The information it is showing IMO is kind of relevant to be shown when in dashboard but you guys chose to show it when viewing a profile. Dashboard is the personal homepage of a user, right? Kind'a home and for one, personally I seldom go to my Profile to see what are my Groups, Pages, Following, etc. But all these data are being shown by the sidebar module in my Profile. I don't get it.

If you guys think of showing those info to other users who would view my Profile, then I guess I hope the module would follow the Privacy Settings. It would be helpful to have a visual cue who sees what in a user profile but since there's nothing to indicate otherwise then it is confusing.

Can we get a list of what are shown in the sidebar module? Would be nice to be able to pick but...

Thanks,

Jackson
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holiday for us here.

I believe you still remember how Easysocial 2.x work, let's imagine all following pages also have a sidebar display on the left sidebar :

1. User profile page and the app page
2. Group/event/page listing page
3. and etc

In Easysocial 3, we remove the build-in sidebar on the page then make it as a module which called "Sidebar module", so this "Sidebar module" will remain the same behaviour like how it look like in Easysocial 2.x (default module position is 'es-sidebar') , and you can decide which module position you would like to show this "Sidebar module".

For the user dashboard page, we completely remove it and site admin can decide what module they want to display on this left sidebar module position (es-dashboard-aside) , and you can able to re-ordering which module you would like to appear at the first or last.

If I recall correctly, In Easysocial 2.x got this following thing appear on the left sidebar :

1. Filter newfeed
2. Filter by apps
3. Groups
4. Events
5. Pages
6. Upcoming event
7. Recent User
8. Recent Album
9. Leaderboard

If you really want to display back all these information on your user dashboard left sidebar, you can able to achieve this by assign those existing modules and display on this module position (es-dashboard-aside), if you need help with this, I can able to assit you on this.
