Ah, I see, seems like you submit the ticket under EasyDiscuss that make me confuse(I've already change the category to EasyBlog)
You can customize the email template in the file:
JoomlaFolder/components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/emails/html/post.new.php

OK, sorry I accidentally selected EasyDiscuss.
Seems like showing the category should be a default function or at least a setting.
Editing a php file seems a little extreme.

Based on what i know so far not much user to request to show category in email content, but I can help you switch this post thread category to "Easyblog feature request" so we will see whether if there a lot of user request this, we will definitely consider implement this in the future.
