Hi,
I have 4 questions.
1. My production site is running 3.2.24, is that able to upgrade to 4.0.1 seamlessly?
2. Besides, will it affect my EasySocial Native app?
3. I have seen and try to update the "EasySocial Administrator Component 4.0.1", but it fails.
4. it will tell "You are running on an older version of EasySocial", should we ignore it then?
Thanks and regards,
Fred
Hi Fred,

1. is that referring "EasySocial Rest API plugin and the EasySocial mobile push notification app" from the future update?

You are correct. I am referring to the future update when there is a new release for these two plugin / app.

2. If I do not upgrade the EasySocial to 4.x, what is the impact?

For the above, if you choose choose to stay with ES 3.2.24, you will not able to use the new features or any new fixes that we added into ES 4.0.x

Also, we might not be able to provide you the support on your outdated 3.2.24 version if you encounter issues in ES 3.2.24.

Hope this help and have a nice day.

Hi Fred,

1. My production site is running 3.2.24, is that able to upgrade to 4.0.1 seamlessly?

Regarding the above, did you have any customisation made on ES 3.2.24 core files? If do not have any customisation on ES 3.2.24, then you should not have issue upgrading to ES 4.0.1. But I do suggest you to backup your entire site including the database before you upgrade to ES 4.0.1 just for pre-caution steps.

2. Besides, will it affect my EasySocial Native app?

For the above, upgrading your EasySocial to 4.0.1 should not affect your customized native app. However, you cannot update the EasySocial Rest API plugin and EasySocial Mobile push notification app to latest version. If you do that, your customised native app will no longer work.

3. I have seen and try to update the "EasySocial Administrator Component 4.0.1", but it fails.
4. it will tell "You are running on an older version of EasySocial", should we ignore it then?

Regarding the above, you will need to download the full installer from our website at dashboard page below:
https://stackideas.com/dashboard

The single click updater for EasySocial will not support update from version prior to 4.0.1
For more details, please see: https://stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/updates/updating-to-easysocial-4-0-x

Again, please do not update the EasySocial Rest API plugin and the EasySocial mobile push notification app or else your customized native mobile app will break.

Hope this help and have a nice day

Hi,
I have just upgraded to 4.0.1 to my testing site and using your native app (not my customized one).
But it turns out the attached error.

I have 2 users with different profile types, though I have open and save the profile type again. It still gets the error.
TypeError: undefined is not an object (....props.acls.comments.add')

Please help.
Thanks and regards,
Fred

Hi Fred,

I have just upgraded to 4.0.1 to my testing site and using your native app (not my customized one).
But it turns out the attached error.

Regarding the above, are you testing with the free version of EasySocial native mobile app (Version 3.5.2)?
If yes, then it should work correctly with EasySocial 4.0.1. We just tested using the free version app and connect to your site and the app is working correctly. Please see https://monosnap.com/file/CQMhh5KkjqiHhOldKZb3xxaHbl31xI

Please advise.

Hi,
I think you have just tested my production site (3.2.24) and not my testing site (4.0.1).
I have created another ticket as https://stackideas.com/forums/have-update-testing-site-to-4-0-1-testing-account

Please help.
Thanks and regards,
Fred

Hi,
We have the native app build version 3.5.7 with customization (home page to point-listing and menu item to point-listing) in 2021 and my website is running the EasySocial 3.2.24.

My app version in Google Play cannot be downloaded with the message "This app isn't available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android.
Besides, in Google Play Console, it has mentioned "The SDK your app uses, Segment Analytics Android (com.segment.analytics.android:analytics, 4.8.2), does not adhere to Google Play Developer Program policies.".

So, what is the option to do?
Thanks and regards,
Fred
