More like a question than an issue. I have not tried but I'm wondering if I copy a link of a certain post in Facebook and post it as a story in my timeline or in any cluster. Does it save all the data locally? Or if that particular post in FB is deleted, what happened to that post in ES?

I am just thinking of using ES as an FB backup, I wonder if its possible

Thanks,

Jackson
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Based on what i tested just now, the current Easysocial crawler only can retrieve the data if the Facebook post have those meta data.

E.g. Opengraph and normal standard meta tag like <title>, <meta name="description">

By the way, I wouldn't suggest you that using this way for backup.

Hi Arlex,

Can you confirm if ES has integration for FB that when I post a story in ES it will be automatically be posted in FB?

If that is true, then what happened to comments done in FB?

Sorry, I'm asking these questions I just need a quick confirmed answer so I know that ES is really capable.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hey there,

I am sorry for the delayed of this reply,

Facebook already deprecated this user permission 'publish_actions' since last year, so those user who login on your site using their Facebook user account, they no longer can post their new story to their Facebook user profile wall through Easysocial story form, the only way to post to their Facebook user profile wall is use Facebook share dialog. So how did you guys work around the auto post in EasyBlog? Isn't it the same thing?

Another question, what happened to my story post pulled from FB with opengraph when that post is deleted in FB (source)? Does ES save all the data locally?

Thanks,

Jackson

Hey Jackson,

So how did you guys work around the auto post in EasyBlog? Isn't it the same thing?

I am not sure you still remember Easyblog got 1 feature which allow blogger autopost their blog post to their profile timeline page in previously, and now we also deprecated this feature in Easyblog because Facebook was deprecated this user permission from the app 'publish_actions'.

Basically what this user permission ''publish_actions' does is allow 3rd party program autopost to their Facebook user profile page.

The different now is Easyblog now only allow autopost to Facebook page and group, because Facebook still allow 3rd party program to autopost to their Facebook page and group but need to submit these following user permissions from Facebook app.

- manage_pages
- publish_pages
- publish_to_groups

Another question, what happened to my story post pulled from FB with opengraph when that post is deleted in FB (source)? Does ES save all the data locally?

Hm, we do not have a feature pull the story post from Facebook to Easysocial, if you have any 3rd party plugin does this, yes it will store those story post data into Easysocial database by logically so it will appear these story post on user dashboard page, but also depend on how your 3rd party plugin done this.
