Is there a way to modify the SEF URL generated by SH404SEF, currently it add the User Id to the User like:

http://www.website.com/community/32-john-doe

Also, the permalink is not working at least in my setup. I changed my user permalink to john-doe and I'm still getting 23-john-doe, it could be sh404SEF but ES should do the URL update, isn't it?

Thanks!
Hello Jackson,

Have you tried clearing your SH404's cache?

Hi Mark,

Yes, you're right! After purging SH404's URL permalink worked fine. Does it mean SH404 has to be purge all the time before permalink changes shows up in the URL?

Thanks!

Wow! It is not easy to deal with SH404 developers like your team, so getting a full support feature for EasySocial is close to nothing. But I hope they will add built-in support to ES like they do with Jomsocial. But I guess they remove the JS config in their later version.

Mark, do you know if SH404 URL purging can be set in cron?

Hello,

Hm, to be honest I am not entirely sure about that perhaps you could check this with the developers from SH404? If there's an API that we can call to clear the cache, we could clear it whenver someone modifies the profile but I think that's going to make it pointless for SH404 to cache URLs then

Hi Mark,

That's a bummer and just like I said it is not easy to ask something with SH404SEF people, they are something! Here's what I get from them after asking nicely if they can add support for EasySocial pointing that user permalink will not update itself unless sh404 get purged.

Hello infosys,

EasySocial is already having its own sh404sef plugin built in, I`d suggest you ask about this on stackideas support forum.

As for purging sef urls constantly is not a good idea because after you purge you may get 404 pages until all your sef urls are generated back

rgds

I tried to delete a specific sh404SEF URL that were generated for a user and unfortunately SH404 is not that smart it doesn't work unless all the URL get purged.

Anyhow, want to create new Project? LOL! EasyURL

Thanks,

Jackson

Hello Jackson,

Haha, I hate dealing with SEF urls and I really prefer using the core SEF that is included in Joomla by default :P It's pretty cool already

Hi Mark,

I will try to use Joomla Core SEF if possible for our live website, we have categories that has 3 level deep. I don't know if the URL is acceptable for the departments but it is what it is.

I hope other Joomla developers will follow your support model, sadly only few realizes that. Anyhow, thank you!
