Hi, I have just successfully set up the module for allowing people to subscribe to our blog. I was just wondering if there is a feature such as - 'complete your registration' email. What if someone subscribes with someone else's email without their consent?

thanks
Danny
You can enable subscription confirmation (double opt-in) in the settings, http://take.ms/t5WNo . This will ensure that the user needs to click on the confirmation button in the e-mail that they received to confirm

Hello, Many thanks for directing me. I have enabled this but still, when I test it out, the subscription just goes through as normal. There is no double opt-in. Is there anywhere else in the settings I need to enable?

thanks

You only need to turn on that option. When that option is activated, users does not get subscribed unless they explicitly confirmed

Many thanks for your help. I understand what your saying, I have activated this, but I have done a test and it just goes through without any confirmation.

Can you please edit your post and include the back end and FTP access so that we can check on this.

Hi, I'm testing this all out locally, it isn't live yet. I've figured it out. The emails were going to my spam email box. I couldn't see them. OK this is working, but, the confusion for me is, when someone subscribes, a pop message says - "Success you have subscribed" or something like this. Is it possible to change the message to something like - "We have sent you an email to confirm you want to join this blog"

Many Thanks

You can change this text to anything you want by adding your own language overrides. All you need to do is to search for the string COM_EASYBLOG_SUBSCRIPTION_SUBSCRIBED_SUCCESS in the file /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easyblog.ini

Brilliant, many thanks. Just one last thing, something else. I have created a post and used the insert PDF block. Everything is fine except, when I view the post, it generates the text - 'Download PDF file here' - there is no link on this. There is a link on the title to go to full post and the PDF is viewed OK. I've tried to get rid of the text with no link. How can I either, delete this text, or get rid of the intro text and just have the title to go to full post? I've attached a screen grab.

Also, what is the best way to insert an image and put a link on that image. I can't seem to do this either and this seems so basic.

many thanks

Since you have automated truncation enabled, it's advisable to place a read more in between your text so that the PDF only appears on the full entry view.
