From my opinion, we should not apply them as we already have this setting https://take.ms/hpJV9. If your users does not include any images as avatar, it will use this one instead. But maybe you find it a better ideas, do post them as feature request so that we can see how others react on this one.

I have just posted it as a feature request. But after doing so I just thought, my situation is different because most of our events and groups are created automatically by importing and other methods so we don't add many manually.

It may then not be a useful feature for others. Shall I remove it?

Its okay for you to left them there. Somehow, others users might found that those feature are interesting for them and maybe using same method as you. Totally depend on you actually
