Setting default button colors

With the new version i have the hardest time setting my site default colors, perhaps you can point me in the right direction.

1. standard is button background transparent color black
2. hover standard button background is green color white.

Not sure why my overrides do not work.

You will need to add 'body' on the code as shown in the screenshot(https://monosnap.com/file/prtRlZ8iCH183fyuJJeAqeeIxoRD3p) to increase specificity to override.

Can you try again and see how it goes?

Do clear all of your caches before you see the changes.
