Setting Dashboard Layout & Profile Layout to hidden?

Hi Si Team

Love the 2.1 update.

I would have thought that setting “Profile Layout” to hidden here:

Easy Social>Settings>Users>Layout>Profile Layout

Meant that nothing showed up to the left in the side bar next to the profile e.g. here

I would have thought that setting “Dashboard Layout” to hidden here:

Meant that nothing showed up to the left in the side bar next to the Edit profile e.g. here

https://www.finalbug.net/network-final-cut-pro-post-production-professionals/my-unique-post-production-profile/edit

Is this a bug or have I misunderstood something?

Hi Paul,

It is not a bug as the hide sidebar setting is intended for the profile timeline only.

If you want to hide the content in the sidebar for the about and profile edit page you can perform template overrides on the appropriate files.

I believe you are getting an error there and my colleague is looking into it on your other forum post.

Setting “Profile Sidebar” to hidden I would have expected the side bar to be hidden on for e.g. this page when logged in:

Further nothing that I change in the…:

“Dashboard Layout

Configure the behaviour of the user's dashboard in this section”

…seems to change anything

Am I still missing something?

This is because you have created an override for Elegant under /templates/elegant/profile/default/default.php and the override is based on EasySocial 2.0 and not 2.1. I have updated the override for you and it will now remove the sidebar.

P/S: Do take note that it does not hide the sidebar under the about area.
