Hi SI Team,

I'm having some issues again with my URLs being rendered with duplicate menu items. I have the Easyblog toolbar disabled and I'm using menu items for my menu. Here's an example of what I'm getting:

/categories/categories/audio-components
/tags/tags/tag/congratulations

It sound be:

/categories/audio-components
/tags/tag/congratulations

Any ideas how to fix this? It causes all kinds of issues when you navigate through the site.

Thanks!

Mel
Hello Mel,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the FTP access to your site please?

Hello Mel,

The problem here is actually because your menu title is called "categories", hence it appears as duplicates but we will most likely be changing this behavior in EasyBlog 5 so that it will try to not add the "views" if the current menu item is already linking to the categories. I have applied a temporary fix on your site, can you see if this is the correct behavior now?

Hi Mark,

Thanks for applying this fix. Sorry for my late reply! I've had this problem several times before so it'd be a wonderful thing to incorporate in EasyBlog.

Something still seems a little off. For example, if you go to /categories/capacitor, there is a blog assigned to that category, yet nothing shows up. The same thing happens when you click on the other categories that don't have blogs assigned. If there isn't a blog, it should say that there are no blogs in that category. Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks!

Mel

Hello Mel,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. I have checked your site and it looks like you have created menu items that links to the "All Categories" layout. This layout will display categories instead of blog posts. If you want to display all blog posts from the "Capacitor" category, you should use the "Single Category Layout" instead. I have modified the "Capacitor" menu for you so that you can see the example menu item that I have modified it to.
