We also just discovered why none of our users are selecting from our Avatars any more and were wondering why. One reason is probably in another ticket we have where the javascript is not working in the "Edit Profile" area to let users change their appearance when they first create an account.

Also, I discovered that when person clicks goes to the My Profile page and clicks on either "Edit avatar" or "Edit cover" they can no longer select from our Avatar images. Apparently there are no more photo albums attached. Do I have to create new photo albums for this? My Profile Types in the backend administration do have Avatar images attached.

Can you please gain the Site Details from my forum post at http://stackideas.com/forums/upgrade-to-v1-3-8-has-same-problem-as-v1-3-7-and-v1-3-6-broken-javascript-in-edit-profile since I am not remembering the password I assigned to you.

Thank you,
Hi Sean,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding the above, I logged in with the user account you've provided and go to 'Edit Profile' -> appearance and I am able to select the avatars uploaded for the profile type. Please see http://screencast.com/t/WBVArFI2STtB I also tried register myself and repeat the same process and I still able to select those pre-uploaded avatar from the profile type. Is your issue now resolved?

Currently those pre-uploaded avatar photos from profile type can only be selected in 'Edit Profile' under appearance tab Anyway, i did a test by uploaded few photos and I was able to select these photos from my album. Please see http://screencast.com/t/qqAu3j6mRAfL

Look like everything is working fine to me. I did not hit any javascript issue when in profile edit page.
Please advise.

It works for me in Firefox but not in Chrome. However, with both browsers the error message still shows: javascrip:void(0); which is what my template house is pointing out. The error message still appears when you hold your mouse over the Appearance or Education links.

Interestingly it is working fine for me with Firefox but not with Chrome. I am using windows. Which browser are you using?

Again it is working fine for me with Firefox but not with Chrome.

This is strange. I will play with it some more. I will try to ask all the new people who signed up and have not changed their images if they are having problems.

Hello Sean,

Have you tried clearing the cache on your Google Chrome browser? Also, I noticed that you are loading the scripts from the CDN too. Can you also try switching those off and test it with Google Chrome again?

If the problem still persists, please provide us with the back end and FTP access to the site.

The backend access and ftp instructions are in my other ticket called "Upgrade to v1.3.8 has same problem as v1.3.7 and v1.3.6: broken javascript in Edit Profile".

Yes, I have cleared the Google Cache numerous times.

I am using the CDN for my site and I use three instances of the Amazon CDN using the plug-in: "System - No Number CDN for Joomla" but that plug-in is turned OFF now while we troubleshoot. Otherwise it makes three different CDN connections. So, there should be no connections to those Cloudfront urls.

I was also not sure if maybe you wanted me to turn off my Amazon S3 storage for EasySocial -> Settings - > Remote Storage and stop the Avatars, Files and Photos from using the Amazon S3 buckets that I set up just for EasySocial?

The problem with the Javascript in Chrome does still exist on this computer and one I have upstairs. I will go try another one as well and let you know if I do not get the error messages. Otherwise, assume the errors are still being shown. But, it could be that the errors are coming from the CDNs. Although again.... they should be turned OFF now!

Hi Sean,

Regarding your issue, it seems like the issue is related to your other forum post http://stackideas.com/forums/upgrade-to-v1-3-8-has-same-problem-as-v1-3-7-and-v1-3-6-broken-javascript-in-edit-profile

I've added a fix on your site and now you should be able to 'Appearance or 'Education' links. Please see http://screencast.com/t/JHRefHCZjjOo
Can you please give it a try again?

As for the 'javascrip:void(0);', you can ignore this one because the link is actually an anchor which pointing to 'javascrip:void(0);'. This is why you are seeing the text 'javascrip:void(0);' when you mouse over the links in your edit profile page.

Hope this help and have a nice day

Hi Sofian,

Yes, you can have the 'pre-defined' profile avatars for your users to select when they register / edit the profile. To do this, you will first need to upload these avatars into the profile type. Go to your EasySocial backend under profile types -> [select your profile] -> Avatars and upload your avatars into your profile. You can upload different avatars for each of your profile types. Please see http://screencast.com/t/Kp2WlNNbQKc

Once you've your avatars uploaded, you can then select the default avatar for your profile type. This default avatar will be used when user registered under that particular profile type as their default avatar photo Please see http://screencast.com/t/IfjRkQHxVf3

In EasySocial frontend under edit profile page, you will then see the avatar gallery

Hope this help and have a nice day
