Frontend:

I click on "Groups" on my profile page and then click "Search" I typ in "Pushm" and The National Dog Directory of Pushmataha Oklahoma is not displayed as an option.

Backend:

The group is there.

Please help.
Hey there,

Based on what we checked, it seems like this group 'The National Dog Directory of Pushmataha Oklahoma' has not been indexed into smart search component, this is why you were unable to search this group on the frontend.

I had helped you to index it and it should be able to search on the frontend now.

Can you have a try and see how it goes?

Thanks Irwin. In the middle of the night this situation reminded me of indexing. My company develops very sophisticated relational database systems for several industries. Some of our databases have up to 1,000,000,000+ records and require occasional re-indexing. So, I understand this happens BUT, I seem to remember this has happened with Easy Social before.

This is surprising though because there are only 994 groups and 1200 albums in our Easy Social system within a few months we will have 50,000 groups and 75,000 albums.

All this being said,

1) Can Easy Social handle our needs?
2) Can we create a cron to re-index nightly?
3) How can we index manually ourselves?

Thank you,

Bruce

No worries, EasySocial can handle your needs.

There is no need to do cronjob for re-index as when you create a group/album or others, the smart search will reindex your newly item that you just created automatically unless your table '#__finder_tokens' is full which means the table has reached its maximum size.

You can refer the link for more info about it. https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/full-table.html

When you notice that there is some group or others didn't index, do keep us updated about it so that we can investigate it.

May I know normally how does a group created on your site? is it only on the frontend or the backend?
