Hi, my search indexer isn't working. When the click on the tab it doesn't even open. The dashboard tab opens.
Hi,

The search indexer is no longer in used. That item will be deleted in the next version.

Hi Antonio,

ES is now using Joomla's Smart Search (Finder), if you run Smart Search Index ES search should be working.

Hello Antonio,

Head on to Smart Search at the back end of your Components list and you'll see an "Index" button You just need to click on it.

Hi Mark,

Got it Thanks but honestly I liked Easy Socials a lot better. I only had to put in 3 letters and everything would come up and it would be broke down by categories making things easiers to find. This search isn't nearly as user friendly, I have to almost put in the whole name of the item i'm searching and sometimes the whole name. What if a person can't actually spell what they're looking for but can at least get the first 3 letters right? And now it just looks sloppy as you can see in the screenshot, I think maybe you guys should give some serious consideration to bringing back the ES search, it was much nicer and user friendly than this joomla dumb search:( First time I've actually didn't like something on ES:o

I'm very glad that Stackideas made the move to Finder/Smart Search. The main advantage: you can search in every content/component that supports finder from one box...not only your community.

Mr. Simony what about all the other issues I brought up? I'm not worried about searching every component, I'm worried about my users and it being user friendly, that's more
important than anything else in my opinion, i want their experience to as smooth, easy and enjoyable as possible! In my opinion

Hello Antonio,

The reason why we "invented" our own search algorithm initially is because we hated the way the search works in Joomla but there are just too many pros as compared to the cons if we use Smart Search. However, as Jozsef pointed out, one of the biggest strengths is that we get to search everything and anything from within your Joomla site

Hi Antonio,

Mark, let me add to that.

Antonio, you can add any Search component like MijoSearch for content and other search needs - like what we're using. Then turn off all other Smart Search plugin except EasySocial's plugin so it work fine with ES. That way SmartSearch works only for ES and you get a clean result and it does search contents only within EasySocial. I hope that helps.

Thanks,

Jackson
