Correct me if I'm wrong, do you mean you want to search without any search query eg: http://take.ms/IE05jS ?
If yes, unfortunately, it will not gonna get the search result where you did not input any query

For example, I want to know a list of users that have not entered anything in the Gender field, they have left the field blank. How would I preform this kind of search?

I see, unfortunately it is not possible to search the empty query as you did above as the searching system didn't get anything(query) to be match for.
