Hello,

It appears that it is very difficult tom import images as post covers when using the RSS option. I have enabled "Import Image As Post Cover" but it does not appear to work if the feed is storing the image as <enclosure url="http://www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/styles/1x1_cardfeed/public/thumbnails/image/katerubinsiniss.jpg?itok=2rAHcWaE"; length="310145" type="image/jpeg" />

Any ideas what I can do?
Hi there,

It would be best if you can provide us with that rss feed links for further check on this issues. Please advice.

Hi there,

I am having the issues with these example feeds. You'll notice that the images are either in tags called enclosures or media:content

This one is also not pulling the images and making them as covers even though I have the option selected to use the first image found as the cover

Thanks

Hi there,

Currently, we are using readability library in order to fetch those content from the RSS. As for this library, currently, we still using it older version and we cannot guarantee you that it will fetch 100% identical with the page itself. This is because, most of them have it own unique html structure. Some of them, our library can read but some of them, we cannot.

By the way, we are still looking to upgrade and update this library in order for it to fetch up-to-date content and html structure. We will see if we can restructured this library and intelligently, fetch the correct content.

Thanks for your understanding.

OK thanks for the update. Is there anyway to at least fix the issue where the content is showing many images but for some reason it wont post the first image as the cover?

If you look at this post http://vghl.myvirtualgaming.com/mvg-buzz/mvg-stories/golden-knights-have-more-ticket-revenue-than-penguins-bruins-flyers-1 youll see that the image is being shown as the first image but the post card wont show i as the cover

Thanks again

Hi there,

Based on above blogs' post, it seems that it is correct as our current library detect codes below as your first image on the post.

//fetched this images
https://s.yimg.com/g/images/spaceball.gif

//codes of the image <img>
<img class="JsEnabled_Op(0) JsEnabled_Bg(n) Trsdu(.42s) Bgr(nr) Bgz(cv) StretchedBox W(100%) H(100%) ie-7_H(a)" src="https://s.yimg.com/g/images/spaceball.gif" alt="image" />

//its full codes
<div class="Maw(100%) Pos(r) H(0)"><img class="JsEnabled_Op(0) JsEnabled_Bg(n) Trsdu(.42s) Bgr(nr) Bgz(cv) StretchedBox W(100%) H(100%) ie-7_H(a)" src="https://s.yimg.com/g/images/spaceball.gif" alt="image" /><img class="StretchedBox W(100%) H(100%) ie-7_H(a)" src="https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/qEnYo4iBQyk4Ru_AZgVQSA--/YXBwaWQ9aGlnaGxhbmRlcjtzbT0xO3c9NzQ0O2g9NDk2/http://media.zenfs.com/en/homerun/feed_manager_auto_publish_494/a216f08c962b1f52f49280abf6655b47" alt="image" /></div>

As stated above reply, we cannot fully guarantee, that it will fetch it correct image as something on particular pages, it will inserted a different html structure and element in one page.

Thanks for your understanding

Hi there,

It seems that on my end, it is showing different as you can see here http://take.ms/aaSod. I have tried to purge all cache, your site and my browser, and it seems that the issues persist. It might be your server got cached it. It would be best of you can purged them first for us further check on this issues. Please advice.

Ya that one looks ok in entry mode, the issue I am seeking assistance for is the post cards for the lead in image. I supplied the screen shot for you a few moments ago. I'm sure I am doing something wrong on my end and it's frustrating because I can't figure it out

Hi there,

Honestly, i am bit lost here actually

Right now, on which sections are you referring to actually? Is it you referring to entry page or your current main menu for Easyblog that is http://vghl.myvirtualgaming.com/mvg-buzz/mvg-stories ?

It would be best if you can provide us more specifics links where those post covers shown/not shown. Please advice.

So the issue is that the post card or whatever they are called which are the previews for the entry, are not showing the images properly. These cards can be seen on the link you provided, as well as in an authors blog page and basically anywhere else that you are showing the previews for entries.

As you can see with screen shot #2, several post cards have inserted blank images as the cover despite the fact that many images are available in the post. What this does is create empty looking cards, and even empty slides for the showcase module.

Thanks

Hi there,

Currently, it is correctly shown as you can see here http://take.ms/RCZSa. It will somehow fetch image below as your cover photos, and that why it kept showing you white. It is correct as i explained on above reply. The library will detect image below as your first image and set it to be your current post cover photos. As you can noticed that, those post you shown are all from same source, and they some how, our library fetch image below and included it on the content. And Easyblog, will set image below as their first image and set them as photo covers.

https://s.yimg.com/g/images/spaceball.gif

//codes fetch for that image
<div class="Maw(100%) Pos(r) H(0)"><img class="JsEnabled_Op(0) JsEnabled_Bg(n) Trsdu(.42s) Bgr(nr) Bgz(cv) StretchedBox W(100%) H(100%) ie-7_H(a)" src="https://s.yimg.com/g/images/spaceball.gif" alt="image" /><img class="StretchedBox W(100%) H(100%) ie-7_H(a)" src="https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/qEnYo4iBQyk4Ru_AZgVQSA--/YXBwaWQ9aGlnaGxhbmRlcjtzbT0xO3c9NzQ0O2g9NDk2/http://media.zenfs.com/en/homerun/feed_manager_auto_publish_494/a216f08c962b1f52f49280abf6655b47" alt="image" /></div>

Maybe you can try to copy those content, by clicking on the 'code' as shown http://take.ms/x9W68 and then create new post using that content using same way as before and see how it goes.
