Hi, I've allowed RSS feeds in Easyblog and set up a Feed newsletter in Mailchimp however *|RSSITEM:IMAGE|* in Mailchimp is not showing any images from the feed. I do have a cover image and other images in the content but still nothing show in the Mailchimp preview.

Any ideas?
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I've applied some fix in this file -> JoomlaFolder/components/com_easyblog/views/latest/view.feed.php , it should populate the post cover on the page, can you give it a check again?

Hey Alan,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

I have a little bit lost here, may i know how do you setup Feed newsletter in Mailchimp?

Do you mean when someone published a new blog post on the site, but the Mailchimp email content didn't populate the post cover ?

If no, perhaps you can elaborate more details regarding this?

If yes, can you provide us with your Mailchimp access so I can better have a check?

Hi Arlex,

Yes I have RSS feeds set up on our blog page. When the latest blog is published then the RSS Campaign in Mailchimp picks it up and automatically is able to send out a newsletter with the latest blog excerpt. Problem is the image isn't coming through to Mailchimp. How do I give you my Mailchimp credentials without the whole world seeing it here?

I think I understand what you trying to achieve now, do you mean this RSS link ->
http://yoursite/blog?format=feed&type=rss

do not have populate the image so Mailchimp unable to retrieve the post cover to display on your newsletter right?

Can you update your Joomla backend and FTP access at your first post so I can better have a check?

Hi Arlex,

I see the image is showing but it is showing in the excerpt and I don't have any control over it's size etc.

Is it possible to link only the cover photo to *|RSSITEM:IMAGE|*? This should allow me to style the image in Mailchimp separately from the blog content.

Kind Regards,
Alan

Hey Alan,

Unfortunately that was not possible to render <media:content> tag in RSS feed page based on what Mailchimp mentioned in this RSS merge tag documentation.

I am not really sure whether that is possible to use RSS <enclosure> tag to merge into this *|RSSITEM:IMAGE|* tag, perhaps you can try download my attached file and replace into same file location and see how it goes?

Hi Arlex,

No unfortunately the file you attached ends up with no images. It's ok, I'll use your first fix where the content has the image.

Thanks for your help.
