Hello everybody !

Like many people, I also really want my visitors can review for EasySocial Groups with JReviews.
It is a request occasionally mentioned on this forum.
Ideally I would also like EasySocial this group is attached to a JReviews listing.

Besides to go even further, I thought of some ideas that could greatly improve the user experience.
Again, because I find it easier to express themselves and be understood thanks to the photos, I realized a simulation video :

https://vimeo.com/158466009

A company, a product, a event, a movie, a restaurant (…) referenced on JReviews automatically have an EasySocial Group linked.
So a customer community, spectator, consumer could exchange through tailored tools : EasySocial Groups. Share blog posts and files, initiate discussions, do polling, etc.
I think JReviews is perfect for organizing, stucturer elements.
EasySocial Groups is perfect to offer to a community a complete communication space.
If the two were combined, it would be wonderful !

Concretely, when a user add a new listing in JReviews, a plugin would create a EasySocial Group. Both would be automatically linked.
The description, the avatar image and the cover photo could be the same as those that were sent at the time of submission of the listing JReviews.

It also requires making Everywhere JReviews add-on compatible to EasySocial group to show stars and rating tool.
Of course, users can always rate the group since the listing JReviews.

In JReviews listing, it would be interesting to view content generated from EasySocial groups (recent discussions, recent blog articles, etc.).
There are already modules provided by Stackideas for this. (See 2/2 pictures)

I think the difficulty will be to automate the creation of a group EasySocial JReviews when a listing is added.
Unfortunately I'm not a developer, but it seems there is a track here : /components/com_easysocial/controllers/groups.php
Source : http://stackideas.com/forums/is-there-a-function-that-i-can-call-to-create-a-group-from-within-my-plugin

Furthermore, a EasySocial Event also deserves to be incorporated into JReviews

I realize that Stackideas Team can not develop all. It depends also to JReviews developers.
This project requires working together.

That is why I asked also the question on the JReviews forum.
JReviews Topic : https://forum.jreviews.com/topic/27836-reviews-a-easysocial-group-and-link-it-with-a-jreviews-listing/

Thank you to kindly consider the matter.
Thanks for the input on this

Ok.
My request seems to be too complex for it to be implemented by JReviews.
However, I asked Alejandro if he could simply allow EasySocial Groups review.
He said this :

The integration is do able, but just like with events in EasySocial, there doesn't seem to be an obvious place where one could output the reviews. I don't think EasySocial offers any way to add new links to the sidebar that would load a new page for groups where the reviews could be displayed. If you can find out if that's possible, then that would be a step closer. I am not promising anything at this time, just saying that I've looked into this before for events and there was no obvious way to do it so it was not done. It's a two way street.
Alejandro

Again I'm not developer
Can you help me answer him ?

Thank you Mark.

EasySocial render's event and group apps. These apps allows 3rd party developers to create apps to render output on a group / event page

One good example of event and group app that allows outputting data on a group / event page is the group and event blog app. Perhaps Alejandro want to take a look at these:

Hi Mark. I've written to you privately via email to see if I can get some help with a boilerplate group and events app that adds the sidebar link to load a new page.

Hi Mark
It would be great that we can review directly from the Story Box !!
See in attachment.

Maybe you have technical advice for Alejandro, for him to succeed it ?

Thank you

@pakitao, is that what Alejandro is working towards? I'm a JReviews/ES user subscriber, that would be excellent, particularly for those sites who use JReviews for non-ES items as well, a way to provide additional value combining the two, similar to the integration JReviews has for Quick2Cart.

Yes, it seems that Alejandro is currently doing evolve Everywhere add-on. Hopefully soon we may also review a group or event

Integrating Quick2Cart in JReviews is actually a model of success.
I'd love to have a similar system for EasySocial Groups and Events.

@pakitao,

I don't want to hijack your thread because I see great things to come from your ideas. But with that said, I am curious... why create a group for a business instead of allowing them to have a business profile on ES and have these extra goodies- reviews, blogs, etc. show on (or be attached) to their profile page? And/or feed these items into their Jreviews listing. Am I missing part of the picture and/or not wrapping my head around the concept?

I don't know that showing the overall rating in the header and adding the review form in the story box are possible. We'll explore the possibilities once I hear back from Mark and get some guidance on what's achievable using the EasySocial framework.

@Vineyardseashell
This reflection is interesting. I had not seen it this way.
You're right, this device may not be so interesting for companies, which moreover prefers to keep control of their image.
This might change when Stackideas team will propose "facebook page" account type.

However, in my opinion, this automatic association of a Listing with a Group, would be very useful for products. For example, a smartphone, a video game, a printer, etc.

The Group EasySocial will form of highly targeted user community where they can share content (discussions, blog articles, photos, videos, events, polls, file, etc.)

@Alejandro

According to this article http://stackideas.com/blog/free-app-for-easysocial, it seems that it is possible with apps.
Mark will probably be able to help you.

Thank you Alejandro for your interest !

@Vineyardseashell, @pakitao, yes, while a business may prefer a profile or the future "ES page" to represent the business proper, @pakitao makes sense when suggesting that a business/person's "sub-entities" may benefit from the integration he originally suggested. It's not only useful for a company's products, but also to supplement video training courses (i.e. Guru), to promote chats, to establish expertise and/or engage other users to contribute to your group that does the same, to provide customer service, to support events and allow everyone to network and get to know each other, or for any various other services the company or individual may provide.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay, I am actually recovering from a bad fever! Have been down twice for the past 2 months and it ain't good.

Alejandro,

Yes, it is definitely possible sir but it's not going to be smooth sailing of course because we do hook unto apps should you require to add a new tab on the story form. I will try to simplify this in my e-mail to you.

Team, I just stumbled across this thread and wanted to know if anyone is actively working to integrate a jreviews listing with an easysocial group? I am willing to share the expense to have this developed if needed.

I looked at the screenshots provided and wanted to know if the ability to display easysocial group modules in the jreviews listing is possible today? Not sure how they are linked but I would love to have this functionality...even if it is a manual process.

Hi Mark. I never heard back from you However, after hours of going through the EasySocial code I was finally able to make this happen! We've put together a couple of Apps to implement reviews in Groups and Events.

This is what it looks like for Groups and it's pretty much the same for events.

Again, because I find it easier to express themselves and be understood thanks to the photos, I realized a simulation video :
