Hello!

When user A is a member of a Private Group (could be applicable to all cluster types) then user B is also a member of that group posted a File for example and user A received a notification email. Then user A clicked on that link in the email and get this text in the screen:

Restricted Content
You are not allowed to view the content of this item.
You may need to login to see this content or it could also be restricted to be seen.

I received feedbacks from our users about this that it confuses most of the group members thinking that the website does not allow them to see the content. Maybe it's a good idea to simply show a login form below this message? Is that possible? Or maybe, ES should prompt a login then redirect to the content instead of showing users text which most people does not read.

Thanks,

Jackson
Hi there,

Can you try to implement attached files at this path and see how it goes. It will shown you login button on restricted box. Please give it a try and see how it goes.

Hi Abdul,

Thank you for the file.

Will it be possible to talk to your dev team to add this feature to the code base? Well, this solution will work and I can simply create an override in my end but it would be nice to have a permanent solution rather than override.

I don't understand why most of your clients are not complaining about this but it does make sense that the error is just confusing. Since you are inviting people to join your community, the UI has to be friendly and does not confuse the end user else that invited user will simply close their browser and you'll loose the opportunity of a person joining.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi there,

Different site requires different styling for their own site and we are giving a main structures only. We cannot simply add them and other might get affected as well.

Perhaps it would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this issues by creating a new ticket on the forums and set it to "Feature Request" so that everyone else could vote for it. We will prioritize this feature during the development process for the next major version of EasySocial if there are more people request on this.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hi Adbul,

I think what I am suggesting is not styling but rather fixing a UI issue Please put yourself in a shoes of a person who is not really a tech savvy and forget you know a lot about internet. Now you recieved an email from your friend inviting you to their group and then you see this message:

Restricted Content
You are not allowed to view the content of this item.
You may need to login to see this content or it could also be restricted to be seen.

Now what would be your reaction? Remember you are not into technology but smart to figure out things.

What I am suggesting is since you guys already have the code why not add it in views like this? Isn't it more friendlier to simply add the link to Login or Create an Account below the message? Am I asking too much or am I asking because it is my website style? Or I am asking a logical fix to the UI design?

Thanks,

Jackson

Hello Jackson,

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, that would be friendly to have some kind of login link or form together with the message. I will log this in our tracker and see whether we can come out with a better approach.
