Resizing images in EaesyBlog comments

When a user link an image in an EasyBlog comment, usually the image is too large.

I set the max-width to 100% in order to keep the page structure, but of course the image is still "heavy" and slows down the page load.

Any way we can resize the image automatically and even better - make it a thumbnail with a popup option?

Unfortunately EasyBlog doesn't do that because of security purposes. These external images could be from anywhere and it may contain malicious scripts. I could imagine if a remote attacker tries to embed a "fake image" which executes PHP scripts, it's going to be pretty insane.
