Hello Philip,

Can you replace the attached file in:
../administrator/components/com_easydiscuss/easydiscuss.php
../components/com_easydiscuss/models/posts.php

And run this URL:
http://www.yoursite.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_easydiscuss&userid=123
Change the yoursite.com to your domain name and change the 123 to the User id you want to clear the counter.

Do backup the original files before replacing and replace back the original after this process.

If it doesn't work, you can provide us your backend and FTP so we can perform this steps it for you.

That would be perfect if it wasn't on a per user basis. Is it possible to do globally?

Hello Philip,

If you want to process all the user New counter to 0, try download my attachment file and replace in
-> ../administrator/components/com_easydiscuss/easydiscuss.php

After that run this URL in your Joomla backend ->http://domainname.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_easydiscuss&clear=1
Change the domainname.com to your domain name

*Do backup the original files before replacing and replace back the original after this process.

Hello Philip,

It seems like your site didn't allow user execute the SQL query in your backend, check my video : http://screencast.com/t/odw5zXt6Lk7
When i try to run the SQL query in Mijosql extension, then hitting this error
Category not found

It same liken when i try to run this URL -> http://domainname.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_easydiscuss&clear=1

Can you consult with your Webhosting provider regarding this ? Please advise.

I called my provider, but they were of little help on the phone.

1. If I open a ticket with them how should I describe the problem? Should I say, a Joomla extension can't communicate with sql? That seem like a very broad statement, how should I write the question to them? My vocabulary is limited in this area.

2. Can I run the queries in phpMyAdmin?

When I run URL -> http://domainname.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_easydiscuss&clear=1

it takes me to the ED component in the backend

Can you provide us with your phpmyadmin access first before contact with your Webhosting provider regarding this? Because I need to check some result from your table #__discuss_users. Please advise.
